Also happy for him, but it's hard to imagine any walk on contributing more than Trevor Daniel at the moment

Congratulations to this young man. Keep up the good work. Most of us on here would kill to have been good enough to earn what you just got!!!

I did not realize that Trevor was still not on scholarship. No body deserves one more than him. He flipped the field on OK several times.

GREAT, just what someone from his generation needs, a free ticket to education. Occurrences such as this are going to inversely affect the millennial generation in a negative way. Now he's going to go through life expecting everything to be served to him on a silver platter with a silver spoon. Way to give into the 'entitlement generation.'

Awesome congratulations. Hard work and character pays off sometimes. Not as often as it should but it does.

I get the blue font, but I don't think it works out quite the way you'd planned. The kid has worked his tail off as a non-scholarship player, then was rewarded for his hard work. So, in essence, the moral of the story is precisely what it should be: work hard and get rewarded. It has zero to do with entitlement or lazy millennials. This isn't socialism at work, it is the American Dream.

Nail...head...hit! He replaces a NFL punter and appears to be the best we've had since Britton Colquitt...may end as better.

Does Butch only award scholarships to those PWs that have been in the program for a minimum of 3+ years?

they give Daniel a scholarship right now that is one less recruit they can sign. that is why he won't get one at this time. Same reason on Colton Jumper

I'm wrong on Daniel. he would not be an initial counter. he is a redshirt sophomore so in his third year.

Also, classy move by Vols' football coach Butch Jones. He awarded a scholarship following a late-week practice to former walk-on tight end/h-back Joe Stocstill. The Lewisburg native has lettered each of the previous two seasons.

Hey thats great. I know his parents, I'm sure everybody in Marshall County is proud.

2 scholly players from Lewisburg? No way! Vegas would have given you 1,000,000/1 on this one.

That is awesome for Stoc! Well deserved for a fine young man that has worked his tail off.

FYI: if a young man is given a scholarship with in the first two years then it counts back towards the initial count. After 2 years it counts against the 85 scholarship limit.
