Well,

Figure Big Jim was PO'd, but got to give Davenport a lot of credit for falling on the sword.

But... Who would have been on the inside, to be able to leak that just in time?

The wierd part is when Ohio St. needed a coach when Urban Meyer was suspended for 3 games and after they hired a new coach when Urban said he was quitting, They had a chance to hire Schiano and didn't. This is after Ohio St said all kind of things about Tennessee not hiring him. No wonder i hate teams like Ohio St and ND.

The big thing I like about Fulmer being AD is I believe he will remove a stigma regarding the UT. The tomfoolery, Monty Python, carnival, and just plain farce of our coaching hires and searches, I fear we are seen as__ Dumb hicks who continually shoot ourselves in the foot, rub dirt on it and shoot the foot again. I support him but admit I was less than pleased when Phil picked Pruitt. I hope it proves to be a successful hire in the end. But I think Fulmer has for now at least, softened if not outright remove the perception of UT as Hicksville University.

I wish I had that kind of confidence in Fulmer but I don't. Yet.

Can't blame you. We've been the school where it was surely said if you want to make a quick and easy few million bucks, be a marginally or ineffective coach and get hired by the UT. It's run by gnome-gremlin hybrids who don't have the slightest inkling of what they're doing. I'm pulling hard for Fulmer to squash that perception.

Whoever it was should have a small shrine venerating their (anonymous) name just outside of Gate 21. People can slap it on the way in like the players do the "Give My All" sign on their way in. This will mystically instill the joy in the crowd that forevermore, whoever our coach may be, it sure as hell isn't Schiano.

Well, when the ***s on your own doorstep things are ALOT different. All that and they wouldn't even hire him as an interim

Yeah, no, Davenport deserved ZERO credit for anything positive that happened during all that mess. She was a Haslam lackey who did as she was told until the gig was up and she had to (very reluctantly) announce Fulmer as the interim AD. She couldn’t stand Fulmer and Tennessee fans as much as the “powers that be” who tried to force Schiano on us.

It’s still just so shocking how out of it a guy like Curry could be. How could he have been so out of touch with the pulse of the fan base. He’s a guy that’s really just dumb when it comes to that type of thing. I’m sure he’s book smart...but just as dumb as it comes with regard to social/common sense. He flushed his entire career as an ad down the drain based off that debacle.

Where were Dan Wolken & Kirk Herbstreit to lead their moral charge? Crickets.
