Schedule- UF game

Sure. Why limit the Florida losses to September? November is equally as good.

(It doesn't matter when we play them. We still need to beat them and that's not happening).

I've been for for years, but not sure which team would be the better to switch with. Kensucky or vandersmelt or ..........?

I would like to see it moved. Worked out pretty well for us in 2001. Also, Georgia didn't have a problem getting the USCe game moved from the 2nd week to later, which made their already easy schedule easier. Bums!

Op's didn't say last game of the season. Just some time later in the season. A switch with Vandy would be nice.

my point was that UF doesn't want to load up hard games at the end of the season. They always end with a patsy and then FSU

I would switch it with the Missouri game, personally. Bama, SC, patsy, UF, Vandy, UK, SECCG seems like a good way to end every season.

edit: not that I'm calling Troy a patsy ... but we should schedule a softer non-conference opponent that weak.

As it is now UF ends with 3 non-conference games, so it would be cool for them to go UT, non-con, FSU ... bowl game to finish the season, and have UT be their last SEC game

No, it wouldn't. Your in-state rival is Vandy, ours is FSU. Good luck getting Jeremy Foley to agree to playing FSU and UT back-to-back, in some years followed by a trip to the SECCG. That's just not going to happen.

It's a bit ironic that this season UT had a much more favorable schedule leading up to our game, yet some here still want to see the game moved.

Why move it? Up until recently, the UT/ UF game was the 1st big match-up of the SEC schedule. It isn't UF's fault that UT went into the sh&tter.

Do any of you people really think it would matter if UT played UF in Nov. vs. Sept.? As LW said, leading up the game this year most saw UT's schedule more favorable than UF's.

It wouldn't be UT-FSU back to back. It would be UT-nonconf-FSU, and then we would go to the SECCG and you would go to your bowl game.

In a few years when we are good, and Bama rolls around as your SECW team of the year, you will be unhappy at 1-2 in September.

Fair enough, how about middle of the season?

Considering the middle of our schedule currently consists of LSU, Vandy, South Carolina and Georgia, you already know what the answer is.

UF won't agree to move the game just to make life easier for UT.

I like your optimism.

With the emergence of Driskel our future looks pretty bright also.

btw, I've always thought we should do this, even 10 years ago when we were winning our share.

Dec 1, 2001, was the most electrifying SEC game (sporting event) I've ever seen, heard about, imagined, and there's a reason.

edit: And I'm not looking to make it "easier" for us .. It's just that when these two teams are in midseason or "playoff" form, the intensity and level of competition rises that much more.

Why would it help UT?

Our schedule is middle loaded. Playing it in the first 3rd of the season is not really any different than playing it in the back 3rd. Unless the angle is that it hurts UF. Which gets back to my original opinion. UT needs to step their game up.
