I think we can all admit that Scotty has played really well this year so far. This is scary though: His shooting percentages:

FG%: 41%
3PT FG: 20%

Imagine if he got that to 47/35 :eek:hmy: This team could be even better.

Agreed.

We have not been on all cylinders offensively.

This team could be Final Four good by March.

I cannot believe how bad Fields looked. Hope he takes this game as a wakeup call and listens to the coaches. He should be playing better than that.

It was like the refs were taking it out on him that he was so demonstrative after every foul call. They ticky tacked him for 3 of the 5.

Our defense is championship caliber right now. If we can keep it up, we should be very good heading into conference play.

We did this well with sometimes having McBee, and Pearl on the court at the same time. Lets keep it up and get the freshies involved more and more. Go vols lets get the Final 4

You know what's funny? Our wing D (my biggest concern this year) is fantastic. McBee is gritty and has improved. Hopson knows how to use his length/athleticism. Tatum understands how to play off the ball D. Woolridge uses his length to bother opponents. It's crazy that none of those guys last year played good D, but now are.

Scotty is doing an incredible job of stopping before he runs into a defender in the paint who is waiting to take a charge or strip the ball from him. Tyler Smith and JP had very bad problems with this aspect of their game and they committed tons of charges because they never stopped. Scotty is either stopping and hitting the shot, passing downlow or moving around the defender. Extremely impressive, many teams are double teaming him now once he takes the ball into the lane. Shows Scotty has some b-ball intelligence to go along with his ridiculous athleticism. It probably has something to do with coaching as well.

For his Fresh and Soph years Scotty refused to drive the lane and at many times was disinterested in moving more than five feet on offense. Finally, this year he seems to be getting back to his AAU and High school form by getting to the bucket whenever possible.
His FG and 3 % will rise through the year as he continues to be dual threat (driving/ shooting).
