In truth, I think a coach like Pruitt might have saved Coker from himself. He pushed the limits because he thought Fulmer could and would cover for him.
From what I’ve seen in life, addicts tend to have to hit rock bottom before life changes happen. Haven’t seen any myself where other folks triggered change away from addiction. Never dealt with it personally, but it appears to be a tough and complicated battle to overcome.

There are frequent debates here over whether pot is addictive or not. I've always heard it was emotionally addictive but not chemically addictive. Fulmer enabled bad behavior by making ways for guys to avoid consequences. Off field discipline problems did him in as much as the losses did.
