I point that out every time we recruit a player from there. They actually won the State last year. I would think there would be some trickle down effect in how those players perform in college.

Hough is always pumping out talent but none of them ever do anything. Not just for Tennessee, but for anybody. The Samari Matthews kid that went to Texas. We'll never hear from him again.

I like Hough's QB though. I think he would make a great safety one day
I don’t pay much attention to DB stats in HS,

But he does have 6 INTs in his HS career.

Every program offered him. I’m good with it.

Disappointed we didn’t get a visit scheduled and AUBURN did?

Hoping we can flip that Auburn visit or maybe the A&M visit he has scheduled for Jun 5. Jun 5 is gonna be a big day for us.

Edit: After further research, seems like Dobson’s closest relationship was Earnest Thomas who went to Auburn. So that sucks. We visited him with the new staff but got left out the top 4.

Kid really liked Martinez. Once we parted ways, all bets were off

SC to TN, Joshua Dobson translates to VOL.
Idk what this means, but I’m with it. Was our #1 defensive target… old staff recruited him too well, he has Auburn ahead of us rn.

I’m positive this one is salvageable. Our new DC specializes in secondary… find a pitch that resonates.

Game Day visit: Earnest Thomas
At-school visit: Michael Hunter
Now: Derek Jones

Sucks that this guy was once our top defensive target and we didn’t even crack the top 5. That’s what happens with coaching turnover and it’s exacerbated when you hire a guy who only sticks around for a few weeks and then bails, like Hunter did to the Rams.

If he’s chasing big bucks it’s anathema to what always has been and may prove to still be the philosophy at Tennessee under Heup.

No premium prices for HS defensive backs.
