Sawyer Robertson or Avery Johnson

Yeppy.
Tennessee fans, I can't believe Nico left is at the last minute.
Tennessee fans, let's go get a guy from another program. At the last minute.
😆
You realize Nico bailed before spring practice ended and skipped the o&w game? Taking a qb from the portal is way different than what nico did to ut

Robertson would become Nico 2.0 by leaving Baylor. He's their starter, a role that's all his now, one he's won't give up.
Nico left and went to a terrible school/program. Robertson leaving would be an upgrade for him. He wouldn’t be Nico 2.0. We just made the cfp. A player transferring here would be viewed as trying to win a national championship not for the money.

If we get one or both, won't they be despicable traitors to their previous schools?
Neither one of them is entering the portal. BUT, if they did and decided to come to Tennessee, it would be different because they would be our despicable traitors to their previous schools."

I would rather play football for Tennessee, but UCLA is actually a really great school and there are MANY MANY MANY reasons why going to school there is a REALLY good idea........

You really think Nico holding us hostage and ending up with less money at a school than can barely win games is the same as Robertson leaving Baylor who usually at best these recent years goes 8-4 to Tennessee who averages 10 wins the past 3 years in the SEC.
🍎 to 🍊 comparison...you're still trying to spin it. Robertson isn't in the portal which means he's not leaving Baylor. If he has feelers out there then IMHO he would be no better than Nico. As far as I am concerned ANY starter leaving their school after spring practice is a POS.

If he comes here it will be because he was all but guaranteed the starting job. Also Nico was actively shopping other options during the season and lying to the staff or Spyre about offers he had to scam the collective out of more money. That’s not quite the same as a QB taking an opportunity that he didn’t actively search for to make more money at a better program

Robertson the better passer, Johnson the better runner. I think either could fit in this offense well and would be better than anything we have on the roster currently but I think both will be long shots.

I don't look for us to l be able to get a high profile or high ceiling type guy being that it's in the spring. May have could've gotten someone in the winter, but I think we're in a bad spot.

Didn’t Joe leave after spring ball when there was still an open competition? I don’t see how that’s much different

No. In his first two years with the Wolverines, he was the backup to Shea Patterson and Dylan McCaffrey. In those two years, he attempted just 11 passes for 117 yards with two touchdowns.

McNamara won the job, it was his.

Seems he was one of Mike Leach’s recruits to miss State! If so, he should feel right at home with Josh!!!! Lots of pieces fit in that Baylor Leach Heupel puzzle! I’m good with it!
