Sit back for a moment, close your eyes, and take it all in. The University of Tennessee mens basketball team is #2 in the polls and headed into a #1 vs. #2 matchup this weekend with a legitimate chance of coming away with a victory. It won't be easy, and it is in no way expected-but entirely possible. This is much different than the Buzzball team that sneaked into a higher ranking than we all knew that they deserved, this team earned it. UT has the #1 RPI, the #2 (and soon to be #1 I would assume) SOS deep into February. There will be plenty of time to worry about matchups, flue like symptoms, and coach brillcream later on in the week. Take it all in Vol fans....it's a special time to be a Tennessee fan.

It sure is a special time to be a Tennessee basketball fan. I hope we pack the stands in orange on Saturday and for those of you who are going, be loud and cheer on the Big Orange. BEAT MEMPHIS, Go Vols!

Im recording the game on DVD and hoping it truly is a keeper for 20+ years to watch in anticipation of basketball season.

No matter what, this game is going to be one for the ages! I really don't mind if we lose as long as we play our hearts out (like we always do) and gain some respect in the process. History's on our side! There haven't been any undefeated regular season teams since the '89 UNLV squad (if mind serves me correctly). Memphis is due for a loss and it couldn't come at a better time. Can you guys even fathom that we might be #1 next week?

Great post... you have to remember to appreciate when times are good. We spend so much energy hoping to win championships and to be #1. And now for basketball its in our grasp.

Whether or not we achieve either, we control our own destiny over the next 2 games. Win those, and the VOLS WILL BE #1!!!

Well said and so right, I have weighted a long time for this moment to revel in thought of being #1 I might even pinch myself to see if this is nothing moore than a dream "ouch" it is real. A long time comming whin I was is high school I would listen to the vols on raido John and A. W. Davis in 1967 a long time indeed.
