Not funny. If one of your female family memmbers was the victim of domestic violence, you wouldn't be lamely trying to be glib.
No idea the circumstances so I won’t comment on his situation. Young men need to learn to remove themselves from these situations when they can. If you’re in a relationship with crazy get out. If you’re in a heated argument take a walk and cool down. It’s just not worth letting a bad decision ruin your life.
Completely agree. There’s a lot of women that suffer domestic abuse in silence, there’s also some that use it as a weapon as well. People are all too quick to rush to judgment on one side or the other without getting the details right.True. But guys need to also take defensive training. Here's why. Twice I have seen a guy seeking to disengage by walking away. The fem runs after him, gets in front of him yelling and pounding away without any retaliation on his part. Cops show up, cuff the guy, haul him off while others remain to console and focus on their reports with the fem. I may be nuts, but I think in such cases if a guy starts shouting, I just want to leave away from you. Stop hitting me. And repeat this nonstop. Or sit down and weather the hits while loudly shouting, stop hitting me. The idea is to bring focus on who is the aggressor. However, guys who hit women, I have zero sympathy for them.
False accusations are far and away the exception, not the rule, and far too many cases of domestic and/or sexual violence go unreported. It’s possible, and imperative, to truly withhold judgment and give both accuser and accused the benefit of the doubt in these cases. “Let’s wait to see what happened” shouldn’t mean implicitly throwing the alleged victim under the bus.Just a rumor of a report at this point. Let's wait to see what happened.
BTW, in an age when women with an ax to grind in fact DO lie... and use accusations as assault weapons... we always need to wait for the facts.
Actually, I have seen exactly that. An abusive ex-wife who viciously abused my daughters and others while feigning the innocent victim role. I've seen the other side of abusive women and false accusations ruining lives often with the assistance of well-funded 'Violence against Woman Act" (VAWA 2005) groups assisting their evil agenda. I don't assume accusations are legitimate these days. Courts and police cater to mean, manipulative, abusive women who play the victim. It's very real. Devastating when it happens to you.Not funny.
