Is this a full blown game situation scrimmage or is this when we usually do a special teams scrimmage and focus on that aspect? I just know with our depth at rb being shelved for precautionary reasons I am kinda hoping we don't go all out with not many bodies back there.

We need to get the team combat ready with few casualties. That is something that every coach has to manage.

This scrimmage will focus on the special teams play. The final scrimmage will be played more like a regular game.

I bet it's a situational scrimmage - 2 min drill, kicking game, TD celebrations that can replace "loco", how to run the offense w/out running up the score in the 4th quarter when we've got a 40 point lead on Vandy, you know, stuff like that

Yeah, pretty sure Dooley said this would be more situational.

This is a very underrated post.

Dooley said today that the scrimmage will be 20-20. He had originally planned it to be purely situational, however he said that he believes that the team instead needs more straight plays (something I agree with whole heartedly), so the first 20 plays will be regular plays, the last 20 situational. Great quality with Dooley. He knows when he needs to change what HE is doing to better the team.
