Saturday Scrimmage (8/22)

Creer's biggest game was a loss to Wyoming. He didn't make anyone look like anything.

Hardesty - 76att 271yds 3.6ypa 6tds
66yds 5.5ypc vs UCLA
41yds 5.9ypc vs Vanderbilt
35yds 3.5ypc vs Auburn
28yds 4.0ypc vs UAB

Creer - 73att 388yds 5.3ypa 4td
93yds 11.6ypc vs UAB
82yds 5.1ypc vs Wyoming
80yds 6.2ypc vs Vanderbilt
68yds 4.0ypc vs Miss St
24yds 4.0ypc vs Kentucky

Those were all the games they had more than 20 yards rushing. I would say 117 yards more on 3 less carries is making someone look like crap. Not to mention, Hardesty wasn't exactly having his biggest games against great teams either.

Creer averaged more yards per carry in just about every game. You're free to think Hardesty is better and that Creer didn't make him look like crap but I thought Creer looked way better. He was better at hitting holes and had more speed in my opinion.

Gerald jones is down, looks to be his ankle, but is walking it off

Gerald Jones slow to get up after an ugly looking tackle, but got up on his own.

All valid points, but that was last year. This year under Gran it's one cut and hit the hole. If you dance in the hole, you don't play. Exactly why Hardesty is already waaayyy better than he was last year. Not to mention his health is much better this year than any previous year.

That schedule of Creer's was a real murderer's row. He started one game and it was probably the most embarrassing loss UT has suffered in decades. He was fourth on the depth chart before the arrival of Brown and Oku. He's at Louisiana Tech now. He's just not that good.

Oh yeah definitely, I know last year is over and it's a new year. But based off last year I just thought Creer was the better back. I really hope Hardesty succeeds. I just won't be surprised when Brown is getting more carries a game. I definitely trust Gran and his method. He has produced tons of awesome runningbacks. I can't wait to see how Brown and Oku turn out under him.

Creer got inserted in the third and fourth quarters and gained some yards. That 93 yard game he had he didn't even get in until the third quarter was nearly over.

Gerald jones is out of pads, has ice on his ankle and was limping around.

I just think that under these coaches and these offensive blocking schemes we are going to be a night and day different on offense this season. Enough so to say that I think Crompton can be the most improved player in th e SEC this year.

On 16 rushes he racked up 82 yards. In the mean time, Crompton was 11/27 91yds 1td and Stephens 3/9 27yds 2ints. I am sorry but use logic here. Tennessee loses throwing 36 passes and rushing 16 times so that's why Creer wasn't good. Tennessee probably would have won if they hadn't thrown at all and the offense only ran 25 plays with Creer running it every time.

So I have a question for those at the scrimmage or ones that have seen our defense live. My undertanding was that the Tampa 2 defense always had two safeties back, but so far it seems like we only have one safety back. Need some clarification please!

Wow. Creer might have been able to lead us to victory against Wyoming? Nevermind. He's a beast.

I doubt Richardson will be our punt returner. He just fumbled one and miffed one earliee

Lennon Creer was not better than Hardesty at any point other than when Hardesty was suffering from the effects of his multiple injuries. That has been the only thing holding him back. I will trade Creer for Bryce Brown and David Oku any day of the week.

I will say that I think Lamarcus Coker had a chance to be the prime RB. I do feel like he was better than Hardesty. But Creer's numbers all came against low-level competition and/or in the 4th quarter after the defense was worn down or had their 2nd string in.

So you're saying Hardesty sucks? What part did you not understand that every game they split playing time, Creer had a better average except for one game I believe.

I like how Tennessee barely loses to Wyoming and Creer isn't very good because the quarterbacks completed 38.9% of their passes. When Tennessee barely beats Northern Illinois though, Hardesty is a beast because he has 20 yards on 7 carries.

Special teams aren't looking too good. Were having trouble getting punts off in time, the defense is getting in there fast.
