Saturday is going to get UGLY

At this point I just want something like a 45-14 beating. I think we may be able to score when they put their 3rd string guys in at the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

Bama's 3rd string > SCar first string....and we couldn't score a TD on them. I'm thinking we hit 14 straight qtrs without a TD.

so anyone want to bet the deed to their house that we go TD'less for 4 more quarters?

That's really up to Bama and what kind of mood they're in. If Butch will just call them "the red team" one time before Saturday....then I'm all in.

Not sure which will be worse. Watching Tennessee's OL get thoroughly whipped by the Alabama DL or watching the Alabama wide receivers lock up and block UT's little cornerbacks into the benches while Jalen Hurts races down the sideline......with Colton Jumper in hot pursuit! Also, while Sapp is playing well, his lack of size will be exposed big time by the TE blocking him and his attempts to tackle the larger Alabama running backs.

Still not sure Vols will have more total yards offense than Alabama's total point total.

So, what's the consensus? Pooch punt on third downs and pray for Bama turnovers?

We all knew it was going to be ugly. Those stats though, ugh.. They should suit up Jones and make him play. Scoop up what's left after the game and put it in that trashcan they brought out for GT..

Yep, my 11 year old kid has never seen a UT victory over AL. He's not going to see one this week either. I might not even let him watch it. Don't want to scar him for life.

Take him on a weekend outing and cap it off by showing him a video of UT winning the BCS.

I have had Alabama penciled in as a butt whipping every year since 2010. This year really isnt any different. Another year, another Alabama loss.

Everyone needs to prepare for the possibility of a beatdown similar to Ole Miss.

40 is a given. 50 is very possible and 60 points is within reach. Considering our lack of offense and multiple 3 and outs against a dominant front 7, UT's defense will be exhausted by 3rd quarter and Alabama will just have their way with us during the 2nd half.

And come Monday, Butch Jones will still be employed at the University of Tennessee. :jpshakehead:

Honestly, it's been ugly for a while. Not that worried about Saturday. Go out and give 'em our best shot. We may go down but go down swinging and being aggressive. Turn the kids loose and let em play. Put the best athletes on the field. Get the younger kids a lot of reps. At this point, we need to look to the future. Just hope we can get through this one without any serious injuries.

Well said sir.

I mean, lets strap our helmets on and go play. I would really like to see us play with our hair on fire. If we are being serious, the record books may note this game, but the discussion that will ensue is how dominant this Bama team is against everybody.

Bama has some of the lowest viewer ratings in the country. Their games are boring and everyone knows who is going to win.

So to hell with the score or the stat line. Screens to JK, jump balls to Callaway, throw deep, blitz often, run a trick play every quarter. Play for the breaks and when you make one, score!

Butch will not save his job no matter what the outcome, go out guns blazing. Why sit on your magazine while you get overrun? Even if you fire the whole thing and miss, you still get over run. But if a few of those rounds find the right target . . .

This is a loss for sure. I could see it playing out two ways though:

1. Everybody already knows this will be ugly, no need to drive the nail home. Neither team really wants to be there. Bama gets up by 40 in the first half and then we don't see a pass play the entire second half from either team. Bama wins by 50 points without sweating.

2. We come out trying anything and everything. CBJ doesn't care and decides to just let JG make it up as he goes. We actually target Calloway and Byrd. We get creative with Kelly. Defense, despite continual 3 and outs actually holds Bama relatively good. It's a decent game for maybe half a quarter, maybe a full quarter, but we still end up losing by 50 anyway.
