This should put a spin on things. 50% chance of thunderstorms and 70% chance of rain all day. The hurricane is moving in and will bring substantial rain to the central florida region. Bring your panchos!

Let the statistics begin of how each team plays in the rain...

If the Vols can get the running game going early I think rain benefits UT. The rain could effect UF's offense some since they utilize some pitches, reverses, etc. may make ball exchanges a little more difficult. On the other hand if UT can't get the running game going and Ainge is forced to throw the ball not sure how well his pinky is and how rain might effect his grip. A wet track definatley neutralizes speed a bit so that may also play to UT's advantage.

Foolmer better prepare them for it with some wet ball drills.I looked up there local forecast and it said a 40% chance of rain after 2pm.But it might have changed since then.Looks like it will be wet regardless.

Ditto that Spread Option offense relies on a lot of that as you pointed out....Should help us if we can run on that Gator defense, just hoping for a win, I don't care how we get it

Yeah, I was watching the forecast track for the hurricane / tropical system, and it showed the low to be getting fairly close by 2 AM Saturday. 12 hours later, I would expect it to be getting fairly close. It could be REALLY wet.....

40 % chance of rain, mostly in the afternoon, is the correct forecast. That's standard for Florida in mid-September. There's no hurricane bearing down on us.

7-Day Forecast for Latitude 29.69N and Longitude -82.35W

yeah i really don't think its going to rain here...every time the weather channel says 50% chain of rain, it rarely rains....but we haven't had rain in a while so maybe it will. I think rain definitely benefits UT this year.

How in the hell do people live in and 98 degree weather in September?

Having done it for 3 years, your own pool is a necessity.

The afternoon rain is usually a welcome reprise from the oppressive heat of the morning. I remember when we moved to Tampa (first of July, 6 years ago), our neighbors said it hadn't rained in like 6 weeks. That day, a storm came through, and it rained every day for nearly two months.

Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, it's been 90-105 degrees in Tennessee for the past two months. Not much relief here!

In my experience, it rarely rains on one side of the field and not the other. So both teams have to deal with the rain, if indeed there is any.

Don't be surprised if there are delays caused by lightning storms. The last 9 minutes of the Gators' game against Western Kentucky was called off because of it.

Well, I'm not a forecaster. The track that was shown on the ol' television this morning showed it curing up into Alabama, then turning down as it went through Georgia..the extent of that turn had a wide "error" bar...but it did stretch from the panhandle of Florida to Georgia's Atlantic coast...that was what I was basing my statement upon.

I grew up in Savannah, and can hardly stand to go back between April and September. We are hitting the 50's in Lex at night now so the mornings are very refreshing.

this is just going to make Tebow and Harvin more slick and harder to tackle

Exactly.

As dependent as we are on the pass, coupled with Tebow's ability to be a single wing tailback and pound the rock straight ahead himself, that would be disasterous to us if it was really sloppy.
