I don't mind people not agreeing with me, I enjoy good honest debate and intelligent analysis of our team, no need to bitch and moan all the time. There are 1000s of users on this site, ignoring 30 simple minded NegaVols will do nothing but make my experience better and if all the sunshine pumpers would do the same this would turn into a better board. NegaVols killed gridscape board and it'll do the same to this site eventually.

Dude, half of this thread is posts by you. You are just being an attention whore, like a lot on here. I am an optimist. I think we have a shot at AU, USC, UK, Mizz, and VU. But, it will take a lot of improvement for us to win 6 games this year and probably 8-9 next year. We are far behind Bama and probably won't be competitive with them until 2020. I am also a realist. I will be elated if we can somehow win 6 games this year. But, it isn't probable. I don't see us going to AU and winning after they lost to MSU. They are going to be pissed and come out to prove a point. I do hope we can keep it close and somehow squeeze out a win. I will be there!!!

That's a solid view, one hard to argue with and nothing really NegaVols except for accusing me of something and being far off base. Why do that? It's not needed and by referring to me as a whore is the whole point? 1 it's not true and 2 it's simple minded To each his own I guess. It'll be a great game to see live, especially if we pull off the upset!

I've been here since the start off and on, just always posted on the old Gridscape boards. Quit posting anywhere when the NegaVols foolishly ran CPF out of town. They were a loud minority back then that had a say in the biggest collapse in program history. The NegaVols were bad for our program then just as they are now. They were wrong then just as they are today. We may suck today but this staff, these players and this AD are the right stuff, it's easy to see so why be a NegaVol for a couple of years? Why can't the sunshine pumpers rule the mob for a bit? Lets try it and see, what have you got to lose?

We all have that hope and you have to believe in your coaching staff and players until they give you enough reasons not to believe. Defense is certainly better hopefully the offense can catch up and be a factor in the coming games.

well, this Saturday sounds like a good time for an upset...the teams will be dressed up and ready to play anyway and I'll be watching too, so, why not...;)

In a post a few weeks ago, i said that eventually we will bottom out and things will improve. That rise back to relevance will be exciting. I really HOPE that starts Saturday. But it is more likely we are fielding a team that isn't competitive.
Do we have a good Head Coach, staff, and AD? Only time will tell.

Better begin to sit back and watch the games for their entertainment value and stop the hype. UT is no longer a football school. The administration has decided its not and it will remain so until they change their minds. They don't care who wins this upcoming game.

I agree with the OP to this extent: fans too often search for a reason to be negative. This was true even in the 90s when TN was really, really good. Sometimes we don't realize how well we have it until it's gone. Right now, however, and for at least the previous decade , Vols fans haven't had to search too hard for reasons to be negative. I have confidence that given time CJP will turn this ship around and TN will be competitive again. But it is going to take awhile. I will continue to support the team, but I am not going to become some pollyanna and refuse to see the problems in this program.

I think our turnaround started when it was decided to let Butch go. Just not a sprinter start, more like a marathoner.
