Knowing that all our coaches and schemes are brand new on both sides of the ball I think the team looks decently coached. If they keep making little improvements as the season goes we may make a little noise towards the end of the season. I think it'll just take patience to allow a couple of recruiting cycles to handle a gauntlet like we're going to start now. I feel like Pruitt's team after 3 games would beat Butch's after 5 years, and several other high profile new coaches are struggling this year, as did both Kirby and Nicky in their first years. Just don't like seeing all the second guessing going on after only 3 games and can only imagine what it'll look like after playing 3 teams in the top 10 in a row.

They did some new things I was just fine with the coaching. Really, really dumb to put Cryst in at the 2 min warning, but other than that good. If Banks doesnt fumble and Richmond doesnt have that penalty, it would have been 34-0. Still cant believe how potentially talented this team is yet how far they are from even being an average team. I liked the D play and calls better than last week.

Honestly. I’m not. Offensive play calling is terrible sometimes. And it’s their job to get these players ready to play. These slow starts are ridiculous.

Too much logic in this post.

The sky is falling according to some. And they all know how to do it better, just ask.
Kirby barely made a bowl. Saban lost to an FCS school. Scott Frost has already lost to Troy. Mullen lost to UK at home. Chip Kelly got knocked off by Cincinatti.
Patience is a virtue.
I yield the soapbox.

Defensively yes, offensively no but that is only because our oline flat out sucks and we have no real downfield threats at the wr position. I am not really sure what Helton could do at this point to generate offense when your oline cannot seem to block anyone. I would be embarrassed if I were an olineman on this line. They either don't hustle or they just aren't very good, not sure which?

Overall, Pruitt is doing the best he can with what he’s got.

Butch didn’t exactly do him any favors leaving behind players who are used to losing football games.

It’s going to take some time to coach and develop these kids.

But I also believe we have players on our roster who aren’t SEC material.

We’re being forced to play them cause our depth isn’t very good. Especially the D-Line & O-Line.

No. Feels like OTJ training. At this point, I still have no clue what we have as a team. Expected better development on defensive side, and o-line.
I am hopeful that it starts to click soon.
I do think Pruitt and the coaches are good teachers. Just not sure they know how to put the players in the best position to win yet. The next few weeks will tell us more.

Need to be an athlete to point out the obvious?

Need to be an athlete to understand the process ones goes through to grow, change, and improve themselves. I was a D1 athlete on a team ranked in the top 15 in my respective sport. Massive changes dont happen with a snap of a finger. It often seems like it, but in reality it's an accumulation of a lot of hard work over time that finally pushes a person or team over the top.

The coaching has been pretty decent if you ask me. A lot of the mistakes have been on the players missing assignments and not so much the play calling, especially on defense. I think that even in the WVU game we had the right packages out there, they just had some good receivers.

It wasn't dumb. CJP and staff knew we weren't going to lose. I don't believe he pulled any punches but I believe they gave KC a perfect opportunity to run a 2m drill against an opponent not dressed in orange. We need a ton of work and boy are we sloppy , but to call it dumb is missing the point.
You brought a positive about the D. Another positive is Chandler returning to form from injury and no further team injuries.

Pruitt and company are doing the best we could expect. This is a line of scrimmage league, and our Oline sucks, Dline isnt much better. Thats why our next recruiting class has a dozen linemen...including 5 stars like Morris..half of our class is linemen. Half. 2020 and 2021 this year and next years classes will be juniors and seniors. If we cant play 9 and 3 winning football by then, maybe Pruitt isnt the guy. I think he will do well here. Hard nosed football coach is what we need.

I am no more excited than anyone else about a couple more years of sucking. This is the reality though. Next year will hopefully be a little better than this year. After that, i hope we can compete...Bama and UGA are so far ahead of us, and nearly everyone else, they will hang 40 on us every time sadly.

Maybe if this offense wasnt subpar and theyre up 28- 0 but dude lets be real. The offense needs to work on quick scoring with JG. It was dumb.

I disagree about the there receivers. I think they are getting open. QB play is still not getting it done, neither QB. Better than last year, but the ball needs to be placed better for yards after catch and to convert the long ball into a touchdown.

We’re a top 25 team with even a serviceable offensive line. And I mean that.

A team is never as bad or as good as they appear. Small things can make a big difference. You're never as far away from either success or failure as you think. You may be 90% of the way there. But, the bad news is, that last 10% is the most difficult, the most expensive, and most elusive to acquire. And then, retaining it is another matter.

What were all of the horrible play calls?
