Sark hire would have a LARGE impact on recruiting

This may be the dumbest thing I have read on a message board. I would have guessed this would be a Falcons MB, but it is what it is.

Yeah Sark took a really good Falcon offense and turned it to, how can I put this CRAP!

What makes everyone think he’s coming to college? Going from an NFL OC to a college OC is a downgrade. Please give me a situation where that has happen

K
Dude you can not explain that to some of these pipe dreamers. Sarkisian would be an outstanding hire and if they are basing off Julio Jones touchdowns/catches, remember Dan Quinn is involved and the is why the falcons are bad. Defense is horrible and losing your best running back basically all year does not help. Some of these clowns do not know football and just go by name brands aka 5 stars like Botch Jones recruited and look where that went.

Check Julio’s career. He has NEVER been a big TD quantity guy. Kyle Shanahan is an offensive genius. Julio had 14 total TDs under him in 2 years.

So you wanna compare him to the best offensive mind in the NFL, Kyle Shanahan?

The Falcons issue is not Sark. Multiple players have said that this week. ATL is playing practice squad players on their OL due to injury. That is their issue on offense this season.

Won't have to worry anyway it's going to be Friend or someone else who is on staff.

Sark is a GREAT coach & recruiter.

His alcoholism cost him major success as a HC.

He hasn’t had any issues for last 4 years. So this shouldn’t still be a issue for ANYONE.

Hope Tennessee can get him. At the college level he is elite in both recruiting & play calling.

Would be a homerun.
I hope he has beaten his demons. Alcoholism can eat a person alive.

Sark or Jim Bob is the probability, especially with the NFL regular season coming to an end tomorrow. I think Sark would be a good get based off his prior college experience and ability to recruit. I wouldn't hate on Cooter (who does, am I right?) but I think he comes with more drawbacks.

Cooter has no connection to Pruitt. Sark does.

Why would Jim Bob leave the NFL?

Sark is more suited for the college game. Comparing what he is doing in Atlanta is not apples to apples. This would be a path back to being a HC.

So why did such a high profile guy choose lowly Liberty?

Cause that was the only school who would hire him? Bama tried last yr and SEC nixed it. Pruitt wanted to this yr and brass nixed it. Tenn was going to pay $1.5mil but the deal died. Freeze took the Liberty job when Tenn deal didn’t happen.

Jim Bob is probably getting fired, so his options could be limited. And I'm not comparing what Sark is doing in Atlanta, I don't think the NFL is his thing and he's better at the college game.

There is a lot of conversation regarding Sark on the boards. I haven’t seen many comments about Sark’s recruiting background. There are dozens of articles out there about USC recruiting as soon as he got that HC gig. Pruitt + Sark could make UT recruiting special.

With the recruiting going on in Athens, it’s needed.
Move along. Not gonna happen. Not good for recruiting either.

Pruitt wanted Freeze but Fulmer (most likely big brass) stopped it. I don’t think Briles was an option. It’s been NFL guy for awhile now. Make fun of Matthews but he is probably right (95% done)

He also mentioned could be someone still coaching in bowl or CFB playoffs

My hope has been that it's Chip Long from ND not great showing today however that front 7 at Clemson are NFLr's.

It would not.

The spin around here is so hilarious. Pruitt could name a mop as OC and some of you would call it a homerun hire.

There are more blue chip players within a 50 mile radius of USC than anywhere else in the country. Being able to recruit there... doesn't prove very much.

PS- I'm not opposed to hiring him if he has his life straight.

Say what you want, but i would hire Kiffin as OC. The guy is good at play calling. If you going to pay Helton 1.2 million i bet that's more than Kiffin makes at his job now. The guy done his job at Bama when he was there. and you didn't hear anything about him. Kiffin is as good as anyone out there.

Kiffin made $950,000 this year, but why would he leave a HC gig (where he has had success) to take an OC job? He will hold out for a better HC job.

Agreed. I’ve been saying the same, if he comes to UT as the OC. Pruitt can turn the offense over to him and focus on defense and running the program.

Yeah. Higgins and Amari should be here but they aren’t. Wish they were. Let’s just make do with what we have going forward and beat the best with what we recruit!
