Sark hire would have a LARGE impact on recruiting

It's true that any hire is going to get run down on here at this point... Steve Sarkisian was a great OC at USC and was doing a decent job as the head coach at Washington. He would be a good choice... but I have my doubts that he is the one.

I think he would be a good hire but he's not a home run hire (which was original point). He's arguably done less with more at his past 3 stops and I dont think we should assume he will be able to do more with less...

Pruitt wanted Freeze but Fulmer (most likely big brass) stopped it. I don’t think Briles was an option. It’s been NFL guy for awhile now. Make fun of Matthews but he is probably right (95% done)
Doug Matthews is just covering for Fulmer but he's FOS. I don't think anyone blocked UT from hiring Hugh Freeze, there was a lot more to his time at Ole Miss than just prostitutes and that made him untouchable.

I’m with you on more @Volsfaninva917

He did get blocked by administration at UT
Freeze also got blocked from being hired at Auburn too by administrators there. Hard to not believe there is something else really bad is out there.

The same guy that tried to sell us on Schiano last year is now trying to sell us on Sark...

His last 2 OC gigs cost Bama a natty and turned the high powered Falcons offense into a mediocre offense that cant get the ball to Julio in the red zone...
Details, details...

I agree. But I do think he could recruit well.

I don’t think Sark wants to come back to college. He would’ve already been at a college.

His play calling in the 4th quarter absolutely cost Bama against Clemson that year...
Called a game where the Tide outscored Clemson by 10 going into the 4th. Deshaun Watson happened and the D collapsed which our current HC won’t blame on Sarkisian. Still called an impressive drive which should have been the final nail before the D collapsed in the last seconds. Scored as many points in that quarter as in all but one other quarter.

At this point, I’ll be surprised if we hire anyone. It’s been a while. Doesn’t seem like winning programs take this long to fill vital coaching position vacancies, but oh well. Hoping this delay just means we are waiting to get a great one.

You are correct but you have to mention that prior to Bama's final TD, they gained only 20 yards on 1 of their final 11 drives.

Im not mad since I had Clemson on the money line although the wife spent all that plus some at the Venetian that week..

Top 10 offense in just about every offensive category

And

Bama lost that game because of their defense, not the offense.

From the beginning of Sark's tenure through week 8 this season, Julio Jones led all NFL players in targets receptions and yards outside the red zone. Once the Falcons got in the red zone, Julio wasnt in top 40 in NFL.

By any objective measure, the Falcons regressed on offense in 2017 and 2018 compared to 2016.

Again those are facts...
