Sankey having media call at 6pm for "a significant announcement"

Yeah, it's pretty clearly that.

If you're wondering about that TV deal:

Good - Since all SEC football games will be on the ESPN family of networks starting in 2024, they will generally (though not in all cases) declare start times for games before the season and just shift back and forth between networks rather than messing with the start times.

Bad - Starting as soon as next year, some SEC non-conference football and basketball games (I read it as games that otherwise would've been on the SEC Network alternate channel or streaming only) will start to be on ESPN+...which costs $6 a month or $50 a year.
Well...if we are as bad as this year, won’t really matter.

There again, I get ESPN+ free with Verizon.

This might be good for us actually since 2006 we are have just 4 wins when playing on CBS. Can anybody tell me why the Bammers hate Gary Danielson so bad? I mean they hardly ever lose on CBS hardly ever lose period and aren’t ridiculed and embarrassed and made fun of like we are.

Thr SEC is going to play second banana to the Big 10 in terms of prime kickoff times and coverage in general.

ESPN loves them some Big 10

Eh, I'm not sure that'll happen. Isn't Big Noon Saturday still, for the foreseeable future, a Fox thing? If that's the Big Ten's game of the week, and the SEC's 5-12 programs consistently put up better television numbers than their Big Ten counterparts, I envision little competition and appreciate the upside of the GOTW being at 7 or 8 PM as opposed to 3:30 PM.

With respect to basketball, however, bullets five and six likely favor the Big Ten over the SEC and I can see a lot of people getting upset when next year's game against Bowling Green gets locked behind the ESPN+ paywall.
