Sane Knowledgeable Vol Fan Role Call

Looks like I have to do this again on another thread. Just because someone else has a different opinion than you doesn't mean that they're ignorant. You're really gonna have to accept that some people are just going to have different opinions than you. They're not ignorant, they just have a different view and if you can't deal with it, maybe you should take a break from this board for a while.

Do you mean like they have ignorant views because their different views are ignorant?

So we have struggled? Did we win those games? Yes we did. Thats all that matters.

Yes our 2+ deep looked bad against the #8 team and terrible against the #1 team in the country. I wonder how other teams would fare against the same odds?

Maybe you should go back and check the context of the discussion you are attempting to drive your fail train into.

No one was talking about Vols performance against A&M or Alabama as some sort of metric for the rest of the season, but rather the fact that the last 4 SEC games on the schedule are not some sort of automatic lock to win, given our previous level of play against every team this year, and our catastrophic injury list.

If you understand that going into the bama game whether patchwork o-line was going to hold up against that defense was a questionable, after the we lost 2 more linemen it was going to get ugly, and if you leave your defense on the field for 3 Qtrs it is going to be a disaster - Please check in as someone who is lucent and knows about football.
If you think Debord is a moron, Butch should be fired, or Jalen Hurd is bum -You may demonstrate the fact that you are an idiot by ranting a raving some more if you wish. I would sugest that you be silent so that you don't have to eat crow or make some lame excuses for your ignorance later.

What is even more astonishing is believing that losing by 39 points at home in CBJ 4th year, having your stadium taken over by toothless inbred idiots, on national television, in front of highly touted recruits on official and unofficial visits, is acceptable.

Start being a Tennessee fan instead of a coaching staff fan

Shoop didn't have the reserves ready? Yet, I saw play after play where there was a defender in the hole or on the edge and either whiffed or took a bad angle. Coaching or execution?

Debord is limited by the abilities demonstrated by the players. If you can't get outside, receivers don't help the qb, the qb doesn't do well in the pocket, and the ol can't block the four NFL first rounders, what do you call?

Sometimes you just get whipped.

You should start by learning about football if you want to be football fan. You are like many "fans" who take facts and reality personally when it doesn't mesh with their uninformed fantasy. Just like mammas that get mad when their baby doesn't get to play even though he is not as good as those on the field.

Alabama's outside backers were the diffence makers on defense. They played flawlessly all day and made things very dificult for us. Many times when the play falls apart Dobbs can escape to the outside. He couldn't because they had him leveraged all day. Very diciplined and fast.

The OP needs to take his self-righteous attitude and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Who in the hell are YOU? You have a lot of nerve calling people insane and idiots just because we demand more from this program than you. Everybody is entitled to their opinion here...ITS A SPORTS MESSAGE BOARD!! The fact is despite all the injuries, that was a DISGRACEFUL performance all the way around. If you cant admit that, you have problems.

I never said you didn't have a right to be an idiot or insane. By the same token I have the right to point that fact out. You can "demand" that The Law of Gravity be revoke but it aint gonna happen, just proves you are not dealing in reality.

You just blasted the OP for stating his opinion?????
And then went on a rant about how everyone is entitled to their opinion???????
Makes perfect sense.

I don't know how knowledgeable I am but I'm definitely sane.

Debord called 3 really good games from FL, UGA, and TAM. He was under manned bs Bama and Dobbs had a bad day making reads which didn't help.

No, I blasted the OP for thinking his opinion trumps the naysayers around here. Why are we the ignorant ones? Its mean and not cool.

Actually I did not say you were ignorant, you demonstrated it. Having an opinion does not make it correct, just like having a dog don't make it hunt. I suggest you do like many in our day and age, embrace you ignorance and inotollerance with fervor and pretend its wisdom and justice.

My parents taught me not to act like a child if I don't get my way.
The Lord taught me patience and all good things come to those who wait.
I have learned that lashing out in anger towards someone else is never a good idea nor does it ever solve a problem. Just magnifies yours

So yes some of these posters are by definition ignorant if they haven't learned these life lessons and choose to whine every chance they get. Jmo

So, to clarify, "whining" is bad, unless it's whining about perceived ignorance, or perceived whining, correct? Then whining is ok?

If you would have said, in fall camp, that the team would be 5-2 after seven games. I would have been ecstatic. Florida loses two more. Vols cruise the rest of the way while healing up(even though you can almost guarantee we'll make 1 of those last four SEC games close) and Florida loses 2 more. Vols coast into Atlanta and will face an Alabama team that will be overlooking a much healthier UT squad. Not to mention, if A&M pulls off the improbable next week, then UT has a MUCH more favorable matchup in Atlanta.

A&M won't beat Bama, so don't worry

We could still make playoffs! I'm not giving up on that ! If and I say if we lose 1 more than I will put that baby to bed! But oh I think we can!

I would postulate, that if we were 100% healthy on offense, and Debord called the game the same way, we'd have still lost by a similar margin. If we were 100% healthy on defense as well, we might have held them to 27.

This wasn't the first time Debord has tried to make Dobbs a pocket passer, behind an offensive line that we know, can't block for more than 2 seconds.

I think you have the two key culprits there. A bad offensive line and play calling that frequently fails to use what tools are available the their best advantage. If the offense can't stay on the field - with a lot of that having to do with the offensive line, then it can't produce points to win. If the offense can't stay on the field, then the defense has to; and the depth isn't there to last that long. There hasn't been significant improvement in the offensive line for four years now - Dobbs makes them look better when he is Dobbs - which hasn't been that often lately.

We have one OL committed at this time - a three star. We've had high ranks in recruiting based on numbers - not on the average player ranking. We recruit a lot of 3 stars and AL recruits 5 stars - just not as many. Not all rankings pan out, but in the end you can always play 5 stars, but you can't put all your 3 stars on the field. Somehow someway somebody needs to be working on quality and not quantity in the recruiting game - starting with the OL. I'm honestly not sure that the funky game we play will entice many 5 star recruits because much of the time it doesn't look very inspirational - suicidal maybe.

I didn't go into the Alabama game expecting to win, but Debord gets exposed by every equal or better opponent we play, and regularly, against inferior competition.

How anyone still defends CBJ hiring Michigan's Olympic Sports Team Administrator, as our offensive coordinator, baffles me. Just saying it out loud even sounds ridiculous.

Debord's resume is not the issue. That boat sailed. Evaluate him on the results and you will see a great offense held back by a marginal Oline. If your evaluating him based on play calling please post your resume so we know your qualified to make the assessment.
