Judge Bars Trump administration from making Indiscriminate Arrests in California Immigration Raids

LOS ANGELES — A federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to halt indiscriminate immigration stops and arrests in seven California counties, including Los Angeles.

California Dem Leader Offers CASH To Migrants Affected By ICE Raids

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced she will hand out hundreds of thousands of dollars to migrants affected by the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

Bass, 71, said the money will be distributed via cash cards that are loaded with a 'couple hundred' dollars on it.

The program is expected to start its rollout in a week, the Democrat leader said.

Almost 2,800 people have been arrested by ICE in LA as of earlier this week. If each were given $200, the program comes out at an estimated cost of $560,000.

Bass has not stipulated exactly how it will be funded beyond indicating that it will be partly supported by philanthropic donations. Daily Mail has contacted her office for comment.

Last month, the city hit headlines for its anti-ICE protests, which the Trump Administration deeply criticized and even threatened to arrest Governor Gavin Newsom. Trump sent in 2,000 National Guard troops and placed 500 Marines on standby (pictured: anti-ICE protests)

Rep. Wesley Hunt Probes How Many Of New York’s 670K Illegal Immigrants Are On Medicaid

Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt is demanding answers from New York Gov. Kathy Hochul over how many of the state’s estimated 670,000 illegal immigrants are receiving access to Medicaid benefits

Hunt (R-Texas) blasted out a missive to Hochul on Monday, raising questions about how the Empire State has leveraged waivers to allow its Medicaid program to operate differently from federal standards.

“Governor Hochul is required to report this information to the federal government. So the question is simple: Will she comply, or continue to harbor lawbreakers while putting the health care of law-abiding citizens at risk?” Hunt said in a statement to The Post.

“This is what Democrat leadership looks like: open borders, benefits for illegal aliens, and betrayal of the American people.”

Back in February, President Trump signed an executive order directing his administration to ensure, to the maximum extent possible, that “no taxpayer-funded benefits go to unqualified aliens.”

Kristi Noem Accuses Nashville Mayor Of ‘Risking People’s Lives’ With Opposition To ICE

The Democrat mayor doxxed the names of ICE agents. He claimed it was a mistake. DHS doesn't believe him.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem slammed Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell in a Friday morning press conference in the southern city, accusing him of “risking people’s lives” after he doxxed ICE agents.

Noem showcased some of the criminal illegal aliens, including rapists and murders, captured in the Nashville area before warning that left-wing politicians have sided with illegal aliens and in some cases, even endangered federal law enforcement.

“One of the open border politicians is right here in this state and right here in this city, and I’m specifically calling out the mayor of Nashville,” Noem charged.

“Freddie O’Connell has gone after our ICE individuals and agents who work with HSI,” she said, referring to Homeland Security Investigations. “He’s openly doxxed them, revealed them to the public, and encouraged people to go against them and their efforts to clean up the streets of Nashville.”

Legal and migrant advocacy groups fighting to block New York from helping the Trump administration enforce US immigration laws have been awarded more than $600 million in taxpayer dollars from the city and state governments, a Post review of contracts revealed.

The Bronx Defenders alone has received more than $500 million in city contracts.

And the legal aid group raked in another $32 million from the state over the years, records kept by the state comptroller’s office show.

Other groups were also funneled big bucks as they worked to undermine federal immigration policy, including Make the Road NY — which received $56 million to provide legal, health and other services mostly to immigrants, state and city contract records.

The New York Immigration Coalition received $46 million.

“New York City should not be in the business of carrying out Donald Trump’s mass disappearance agenda, which is in fact illegal under our local laws,” said Murad Awadeh, executive director of the NYICC, on his X handle @HeyItsMurad.

Additionally, New Yorker Lawyers for the Public Interest received $19 million, including about $5 million from 2022 to present, city and state records show.

Meanwhile, New York City is slated to spend $75 million on immigration legal services in its new budget, under a spending agreement approved by Mayor Eric Adams and the City Council. That spending plan includes $41.9 million in free legal assistance for migrants facing deportation

California governor Gavin Newsom (D.) personally secured $500,000 in 2023 for a nonprofit group that supports defunding police and recently launched a bond fund for illegal immigrants in ICE custody, according to state records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Newsom in July 2023 asked the James Irvine Foundation, a private foundation that supports low-income workers in California, to donate $500,000 to the Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef), a group that supports defunding the police. Though the funds didn’t come from Newsom’s own pocket, the James Irvine Foundation cut its check specifically at Newsom’s request, according to California’s "behested payments" database, which discloses whenever state elected officials solicit donations to a third party.
