Guys, I know some of you have read the excerpts out of CPF press conference today. Do these comments sound familiar?

"Coach Fulmer says, the team is playing well, doing a heck of a job, and it continues to improve, the team just needs to be more consistent offensively."

"Coach Fulmer acknowledged Defensively, the team knows it has to play better, and work-together better."

"At times, Coach Fulmer says the Vols have played exceptional football, but it's been a crazy year, and Coach says the team has to become more consistent, so that it can play for and compete for championships."

"Tennessee will work like heck to do as good of a job as it can possibly do."

I would like to see results rather than the same comments.

i just don't understand why folks get upset by what he says in these things. he's said the same things over and over for years and years. it's very rarely ever different.

i say again, if you get upset by this kind of stuff, you're looking for stuff to get upset about.

Agreed 100%. He's a football coach, not a Presidential candidate. What is happening on the field is bad enough without trying to read in meaning to every benign comment he makes.

Not sure what you'd rather him say? He could either say this and get criticized, or say nothing and get criticized more. For whatever reason the members of this board have decided that complaining about what Fulmer says in press conferences is the cool thing to do, regardless of the fact it's the same thing that every coach says every year, every week, every day.

Coach Fulmer says, "At times the Vols have played exceptional football."

I can think of one (1) complete game this year: Georgia

I think Fulmer honestly believes all of his standard post game rhetoric. Granted what gets said in public to reporters is likely different than what gets said to players on the practice field and in the post game locker room, but my feeling is with Fulmer it's not that much different than his typical coach speak.
