Sam Pittman fired

You realize they lost to Memphis and Ole Miss largely because they fumbled on potentially game winning/tying drives in the final minute of games in back to back weeks?

Some of yall need to calm down thinking every coach, including one who just got fired, is better than Heupel.
I don’t think he’s even close to better. But I do think he’s a great assistant and one id rather have on my team than my opponents.

Petrino has been 100% in charge of the offense from what I have read and seen. Not sure this change does anything for the game. We play like we should and limit dumb mistakes like dropped balls, poor tackling, and those type of things I think we blow them out.

Granted I haven't exactly been watching much Razorback football this year, but was Petrino sandbagging it to get Pittman canned so he could take over?

There were insinuations of Fulmer doing so when Majors first came back from his heart surgery

They scored 35 at Ole Miss and 31 against Memphis. The offense wasn't the problem in those losses.

Glad we finally got that one out of the way. I’ve been tired of hearing about it for 2 years.

Now does Petrino prove he’s been sandbagging Arkansas by winning some games? Or maybe Petrino needs the talent first..

Sumrall, Lashlee and Petrino seem to be the three being tossed around right now. Still a long way to go. Lashlee is from the Malzahn tree though.
I think Lashlee and Sumrall would both be excellent hires. Golesh would be interesting as well. What about Tyson Helton from western Kentucky? Think there’d be any interest?

Also with the Gus Bus-from what I’ve read, he seems to be done with the grind of being a head coach. Wouldn’t be surprised if he retires in a few years. I doubt he'd take the HC position with the Hogs, but I coud see him coming back as an OC.

Petrino immediately axed the Defensive Coordinator, co-Defensive Coordinator and a Defensive Line coach. Hard to imagine they could possibly be any worse on defense than what was seen against Notre Dame.

Good luck. SMU has hundreds of millions in their football now and SMU is a better job than Arkansas in 2025.

I think Sumrall is the guy I would target. SEC ties, excellent defenses, proven winner. Can help recruit Louisiana for them.

Gruden to me is just a disaster. You might as well just hire Petrino at that point.

I think they are attempting to scramble things up just to see what comes out of it. makes me nervous that we won't have any tape on them, or really know what they want to do. we should still win, but I think the kitchen sink will be thrown at us.

Why does an interim coach have the power to fire three coaches? I believe this is unusual.
probably because everyone knows he will be the new head coach. I think Arkansas is desperate enough to try/allow anything.

they wouldn't have let the motorcycle back in the building if that wasn't the case.

That's a pretty good indicator he's got people above him in their admin (and/or big boosters) aggressively pushing for him to be permanent head coach.

They're spinning it by saying that defensive changes were coming anyway even if Pittman was still around, but ole Bobby clearly feels pretty comfortable in the position he's in right now.

Yeah unless Walmart backs up the brinks truck it sounds like this morning that Dan Mullen is more of that 3rd option than Lashlee would be. Still think Sumrall has to be the top call but it’s hard not knowing at this point what other jobs will come open.

No way there any better in less than 2 weeks. And I doubt he's doing himself any favors in the locker room with these moves, unless the players didn't like the coaches.
