Lots of people on the Vandy band wagon now - Theo Vonn was "all Vol" just a couple of years ago...LOL

Wouldn't be surprised if all the pundits and talking heads are picking Vandy this week

They will be. Everyone loves the Cinderella story. If we play clean I think we can embarrass them. I sure hope we do.

SEC This Morning was all about Vandy this morning. And also about Pavia riding a big performance in Neyland to get an invite to the Heisman ceremony. Had a very short segment on UT’s win. The Vandy/Pavia hype for this weekend has started.

Just when I thought I had heard it all:
- Doering just said that Pavia should win the Heisman and part of his logic was the ā€œoutstanding performance against 3 great defenses of Texas, Auburn and Kentuckyā€.
- Burns just said that Pavia should go down as one of the most influential players in SEC HISTORY.

This is only going to get more ridiculous as this week goes along.

If we are judging based on performance against Kentucky...then 56 > 45
Aguilar wins the Heisman, no?

That’s just a ā€œwowā€ comment of epic proportions. These ā€œexpertsā€ have lost their collective minds.

On SEC Rewind, Dari Nowkah said something to the effect of "if Vandy can go out and thump Tennessee next weekend in Neyland Stadium, which is possible, it'll be hard to keep them out of the playoffs".

I actually did a double take when Doering said what he did and then Burns said something even more stupid. The media is going to be unbearable by Saturday. Hopefully the Vols get tired of it too and take it out on Pavia and Vandy.

Therefore... punch puke-Pavia in the mouth over & OVER! Make sure the vandie commode-doors squirm & scream in agony Saturday in Neyland Stadium. It's TIME, Tennessee! George Cafego is watching, waiting. šŸ˜›

Count me as one of the few I guess that likes that Vandy is good. So much more fun for the final weekend if we could consistently get two highly matched teams.
I agree, I can't bring myself to hate Vandy the way I do Florida, Bama and UGA and Pavia love him or hate him deserves an invite to New York

Since there doesn't seem to be a recording or even a complete first hand account of George Cafego's famous hatred, I used ChatGPT to take all the known quotes and simulate what it might have been like.

ā€œYou boys listen close. This one ain’t about charts or plays. This one’s about them. Vanderbilt. They’re gonna come in here with their fancy little degrees and their noses so high they forget the football is on the ground. They think we’re supposed to bow to ’em because somebody told them they’re the smart ones. I’ve met plenty of smart men. None of ’em wore black and gold.

You hit a Vanderbilt man and he folds like a porch chair in August. You hit him again, and he’ll wonder why he ever signed up to play Tennessee. You keep hittin’ him, and he’ll remember this day every time he looks at his breakfast for the rest of his life.

Losing to Alabama is a bad Saturday. Losing to Vanderbilt is a crime against nature. They beat us back in ’35 and ’37, and I still feel that sting in my teeth. I don’t care if we go winless from here to Christmas morning — you beat Vanderbilt and you hold your head high in this state.

They’re gonna talk about how they’re the ā€˜Harvard of the South.’ Fine. Then you go out there and give ’em a physics lesson on force and momentum. You show ’em what happens when a body in motion meets a Commodore standing still.

Put ’em in the dirt. Make their alumni rethink their investments. Make their band pack up early. Make their coaches wonder if the bus is still parked where they left it.

Now let’s go ruin a Saturday in Nashville.ā€

I'm sure it pales to the true experience, but it still gave me a chill. Wish he had been recorded.
