Brian is a natural leader “on” the field. That much was obvious when he took the reins in 2019. IMO he needs to be better “off” the field. Not that he’s a bad role model because he’s definitely not. He just needs to learn how to respond/not respond to criticism. When to defend and not defend his teammates publicly. When to speak and when to keep his mouth shut. But I can assure you he could care less about “fitting in”. He’s his own person and whether you agree or disagree with things he’s said/done in the past, you gotta respect the fact that he refuses to be a puppet. But this isn’t about Brian. It’s about Salter and the damage he’s done to himself by “following” if your theory is correct. You took a psychological angle and I respect that as possible but I personally think that it’s as simple as some kids just want to be thugs regardless of their potential. Some kids who have been sheltered mature late, still can be leaders at their position. Just not leaders off the field. Lots of athletes have early on issues. Look at ur guy BM. Hasn't he had more than one already? So does he fit as well? Does his issues keep him from being a leader?
No spin - it’s a fact. If he did not complete requirements for graduation early, he would be at home with his parents (hopefully not out at 3am) and not subject to university disciplinary procedures. lolThat's quite the spin...you may have a future as a journalist - lol
also, why do people assume the legal weed will be available to anyone under 21 years old. people assume that if it was federal legal, that Kaidon would of not been cited or reprimanded. similar to alcohol, legal weed will be available to 21 and up or higher.........if Kaidon would of been pulled over with beer, would everyone still be saying "it should be legal or beer is legal".............no way!It 100% should be legal, but yeah this is salters fault. After the drug related robbery and assault, he was able to coast on the “young and still maturing “ excuses and given another chance. How hard is it to not do stupid sh** like this and simply not catch another charge? Dude is an idiot. Tennessee’s weed laws don’t even matter. Boot his a**.
I'd be fine with giving him the Jennings/Banks treatment and suspend him indefinitely, but allow him to work his way back on the team over the next 12 months. But I think it's out of JH's hands. The university already had him on probation. Unless they put him on double secret probation, I don't see how he comes back.

That's a lot of our younger generations' problem. They don't understand that rules and laws aren't always interchangeable . If the university or your job has a no substance abuse policy, it doesn't matter what anyone else says. Follow the damn rules if you wanna be there. It's incredibly simple.
They are dangerous when not controlled, but so is everything else like alcohol and oxycontin. Here are a couple of links that show you there is proof there is a clinical use for them: National Institute for Health Nobel Prize winner Crick LSDIt’s stupid because hallucinogenic drugs like LSD are dangerous. Also, there is zero proof that these individuals were high on these drugs when they made their discoveries. Nor is there any proof that those same people couldn’t have solved these problems without drugs.
Bottom line, dude shouldn't have been out at 3 AM on the streets with 4 grams - end of story. Add to the fact it has been basically a month since he was re-instated to the team after getting in trouble for a similar incident and he should be gone.

I love how you totally deflect any responsibility for what happened away from you and it's everybody else's who was in the wrong. Have you considered trying out for the team? The weed stuff is stupid, ruining ppls lives and stuff over some small amount of bud is asanine to me.Your spot on tho, with the way this state is will probably be the 53rd state to legalize it lol..They randomly stopped me in Gatlinburg, said they smelled 1.7gs from 300 yards(3 football fields)away as I passed windows up and it raining outside doin 50mph.Now I hadn't been smoking and it was in a sealed Mason jar.I ended up with possesion, dui, some more ignorant sh*t.Fought it got it all dismissed rightfully so.Point is I almost lost my job, had family members act strange etc etc all over some ass*ole that didn't have anything better to do.
you must of read that wrong......i was just adding on to your already good point. did you read that negatively? the "also" in the first part of the post was meant as an additional agreeance with you.Where did I say that? Seems to me that you are the one assuming too much. I said it should be legal, never said anything about it in regards to under 21. Also, wasn’t he just charged with possession and not under the influence? If he were pulled over and had beer in his possession but not under the influence I’d say big f****** deal. Pull your diaper out of your a** crack old man. You seem hurt that someone dare think weed should be legal.

Regardless - he made the choice to enroll early and has to live with the consequences. I am just expressing why I am more sympathetic to his situation than other wayward players.
You should learn the truth, not bs lies the ondcp, nida, and the federal government say.
No doubt his poor choices are on him. My point is that that at 17 he was talented, he was ready in terms of academics (to his credit), but not mature enough to make good decisions. Those are facts per se but the casual relationship you imply is asinine, i.e., " It’s a shame that taking care of business and leaving high school early would lead to getting kicked out of college."
Methinks his poor choices related to drugs and personal behavior are the reasons why he is getting "kicked out of college"...lol.

Another 6 months at home may or may not have made any difference in the final outcome, but at least he would have been making these dumb decisions at home and with fewer university consequences.
As stated, I support Heupel’s decision. I am just more sympathetic when the player is barely a freshman than when he is older.
