I've stood up for Dobbs the past few years when most of my friends have hated on him but IMO he should lose his starting job after last nights performance. Debord isnt using Dobbs the way he should be used and I think most of you would agree with that. At a minimum, Dormady should get a series or two each quarter. Sadly, we now need to see what Dormady does with some meaningful snaps. I still respect Dobbs and appreciate him, but obviously Debord doesnt, so why not play Dormady? Bash away.

Based on where this team is and the opportunity seems to be nowhere, YES, it is time to grow Dormady at QB... lol, poor choice of words. Well, let him play and try to figure it out himself.

There have been numerous games where Dobbs has willed this team to victory. Dobbs has pass problems, if that is something new to someone, then you might be the issue and not the team. The coaching staff needs to game plan to maximize his strengths. If they fail to do so, they are the problem. Dobbs is good enough to beat every team left on our schedule.
If CBJ benches this young man with four games left in his senior season, I will not only lose respect for him as a coach, but as a person.

Last night,
Dobbs was not called for holding during a TD run.
Dobbs did not leave a a USC wr uncovered for a touchdown
Dobbs did not make CFA knock the ball out of his hand during a quick pass play.
Dobbs did not come up with a game plan that let a high school senior pass all over them.
Dobbs didnt tell the defense to blitz when two new players had just been put in the secondary.

Dobbs made mistake, but he is not the only person to blame for last night.

I don't know if Dormady is the answer behind this line, but I do know when Dobbs has time to throw he doesn't do it well. He has got to be one of the most inaccurate passers I've seen start for a major program in the SEC.

Some of the throws he made last night were utterly terrible and there is no excuse. In my opinion the only reason he's starting is because of his ability to run. Now that the staff has decided to limit his runs what good is he doing back there? If Dobbs isn't the answer, then roll the dice and play someone else. You have a 50/50 shot at being right. Dormady's arm and accuracy are better, maybe he should get a shot.

You're right, the Offensive Line does him no favors!

Dobbs is a fine young man and a wonderful representative of our school. That being said, he is an awful QB. If I were Butch, I'd go with one of the younger guys for the rest of the season

Dobbs has thrown interceptions and fumbled the ball at super critical times in the game, some his fault some not.
We look like an undisciplined football team. :twocents:

Thats a nice list but,

Butch makes the big bucks for a reason... he has to make tough decisions. Like I said, Dobbs doesnt exactly have to be benched but he has played bad enough for long enough to understand the reasoning behind Dormady getting some meaningful snaps.

Although ive faught against this argument, a strong argument can be made that Dobbs' poor passing is the reason weve had to have late game heroics to win.

It's not going to happen unless the game is no longer in question or Dobbs is hurt. Dobbs is the starting QB at UT, plain and simple!

Let somebody else play. I mean put Jennings back there if need be just give me a QB who can execute the offense and throw farther than 5 yards accurately.

The backup qb is always the best player on the team after a loss, didnt you know that? Geez, everyone knows that.

If you knew me at all you'd know that I feel the same way. As ive said, ive defended Dobbs for years, and im sure your aware, its been pretty tough a lot of the time. Its just time to see what Dormady can do. At least in a part time role.

guess you are a Dobbs lover. agree with the op,bring on Dormady.

I respect Dobbs for what he has done in the past. A bad game doesnt change that because I dont have a short term memory. I listed several major mistakes that Dobbs was not responsible for, and each played their part in the loss. Funny how everyone goes right past all that straight to, oh must be a Dobbs lover, you are damn right I am. Dobbs has laid everything on the line for this team, time and time again. I fault the coaches for putting him in bad positions and not playing to his strength.
Dobbs deserve to finish is fine career in with dignity and the rest of the team needs to follow his lead and the coaching staff needs to put him in position to use his strengths at the start of the game.

I dont think he's an awful QB at all. I think he's better than average when used properly but this staff refuses to do so.

Its not Debord...and it wasn't Bajakian.

Its Butch Jones and his disgustingly hard head!

Remember Worely and how bad he was? It took him getting injuried before a change. We had no choice.

See, we agree again. Having said that, he hasnt played so good that he should be upset at sharing some snaps. Last night was the worst ive ever seen him throw the ball, hard to defend that.

The entire team has degressed, not just Dobbs. It's on the coaching staff to figure out how to fix it and benching a guy who in alot of games looked like one of the (very) few that thought we would win is not the answer.
Without Dobbs playing we:
Lose to SC last year
Florida this year
Georgia this year
Likily dont come back at College Station
I could go on but it doesnt matter, people's minds are already made up on it.

Not really gonna argue with this either. I actually wish Bajakian wouldve stayed. Weve since bailed on the tempo, misdirection, etc.
