Actually, it's the police union sliming
their mayor by calling attention to laws he ordered them to no longer enforce. If I can put this respectfully to everyone's politics, Giuliani followed the "no broken windows" policy, and crime statistics fell to the lowest rates in a long time. DeBlasio rescinded those policies and demanded a "less antagonistic" approach from law enforcement. The NYPD union believes those policies have been counterproductive, and was opining that lack of enforcement (including marijuana laws) is what led to Majors' death--not her possible reason for being in the park.

present that information is another issue...
