And I agree, Florida is simply not that good. They were definitely beatable. I'm not saying we should have won but I am saying I would be pretty shocked if Florida doesn't lose at least 3-4 games this season.

Of course we're mediocre. Our roster has been gutted. There's been a coaching merry-go-round for years. We're playing multiple walk-ons. Our OL is starting two freshman. Etc., etc. It's practically impossible not to suck under those conditions, so I don't know why it's so important to be "realistic" and continually point out the deficiencies. Right now, it's all about working towards the future and playing a tough game against a team like the Gators is a step in that direction.

:clapping:You have to be smart and be abler to think to understand this.....wasting your time here.

We think a 14 point loss at home (the 6th in a row...) to our "rival" is a moral victory... News flash, Florida isn't very good and they still handled us... if not for a couple of blown coverage plays it's a 31-3 thrashing.

Now go ahead, flame the reality....

not very many people are calling it a moral victory. alot of us are happier with this effort compaired to the Oregon effort. and its NEVER A SAD DAY TO BE A VOL FAN!!! IT WOULD SUCK TO WAKE UP TOMORROW AND BE A FAN OF ANOTHER TEAM.

Moral victories are garbage.

But this wailing and gnashing of teeth because they lost is a little off. TN fans have to realize how gutted this team is.

Look up Joseph Ayres. That was one of your defensive tackles today.

Jospeh freaking Ayres.

I don't think anyone is "happy" with another loss but we also have to realize this is a very young team and one going through several coaching changes. The reality is that we are not the "old Vols" we all want us to be again but despite a 1-2 start there are some signs that this team can be good.

Some of you folks are really sad. All the things we been through and well trying to find some hope in anything we do. We find something that looks like hope and all some of our fan base does is get on here and tries to tear it down. I dont get it if you find everything about this program in a negative way please leave and dont come back. But we read the papers every day and some media figure is tearing us down then we come to a message board looking for something good and all we find is our own fan base tearing us down. You know I just dont get it. If the media is tearing the team down and the fan base is tearing the team down who is left to cheer for them.

Hello fellow Vol Fans. This is my first post on this board although I have come to this site for quite some time and just read up on news. It is a sad day to be a Vol indeed. I was set in believing that today was going to be the day we end this streak, but it didn't happen. It sucks we have to result to thinking of this as a moral victory. I miss the days of old, but they should be on their way back soon. However, I did see some good things out there and we have nowhere to go but up. I do believe Bray should be starting at Quaterback though. Why would we keep playing a guy who is a Junior making Freshman mistakes, when we could be playing a Freshman who is talented and getting game experience making those same mistakes. It makes perfect sense and I just really don't understand where they are going with this.

No matter what happens or how we play, if you say you're sad to be a VOL then quit posting your opinions on here. Either you're a VOL or you're not.

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A "MORAL VICTORY". The only victory is what's on the scoreboard at the end of the game.

C'mon, we've all known it was gonna be like this all spring and summer. Yes, we need to have hope, we need to think we can win every game, but we've all known this is a REBUILDING year, yes?

We have all seen mistakes and weakness, we've known for months what these would be, and we were right; but, I think we have shown good progress from last week to this. CDD said all this past week that the goal was to FINISH; blocks, tackles, routes and most important, FINISH THE GAME! IMHO we made progress toward that goal, that is reaching a goal. Not a victory, not even a "moral" one, but progressing toward a goal, that is what we have to do. I'm sure Coach will have another goal for this week; one by one we'll accomplish these goals and move step by step toward our ultimate goals, looking up at the scoreboard and seeing the real victory! This is a great time to be a Vol. We're seeing the building of what will be a GREAT program in a few years. GO VOLS!
