Saban's Presser Comments on Tennessee

Saban's hardest task this week. Trying to lie to the media and tell his players that Tennessee is gonna be a tough opponent without cracking a smile.

But then, his easiest task will be this saturday. Playing lyle Jones led vols. The entire alabama team could actually eat rat poison and still beat us by 21.

Gotta say something nice and that is the best he could do. He would have been right just to say, "Look, the spread is 34 and we plan on it being 40+. That is our goal Saturday, not just cover the spread but exceed it." Now that would have been news!

I disagree. Not smiling comes naturally to him.

I actually look for the vols to cover the spread, since Bama will treat this like a scrimmage (and make it a priority to log the win without getting anyone hurt). We will probably be going up against their backups in the 3rd quarter (which sadly will still be better than our starters).

Press conferences with coaches are not worth paying attention to at all IMO

Most of it is generic coach speak and fluff. If they reveal anything insightful then I'm sure I'll read about it

Here's something to make it entertaining

He won't be this kind Saturday. He won't take his foot off the gas like he did Arky this weekend.

You're right but if it is closer than the 34 point spread, I'll guarantee you some in here will say. :bottom:Well Saban took his foot off the gas. It fits the narrative.
