Saban the Great DB Coach????

I wonder what this means, though, with Ansley coaching here now. He played the position, so he has to incorporate that in his coaching one would think. Did Saban actually play the position or was DB just his adopted one when he was still a position coach?

I find this article mighty funny. Especially after calling this kid a bust before he was drafted. Hope Jalen Ramsey is reading this. :) Dre Kirkpatrick: 'I never backpedaled' at Alabama - NFL.com

SN: Thanks to my boy Tha Don for finding this. :)

You amaze sometimes BB. We already know you do not like Dre or Saban. And you and I both agree Dre needed work in CFB. Not sure where you are getting the bust part but whatever.

If anything that article helps out Saban and recruiting DBs. Again it shows another DB that has needed work but under Saban was developed well enough to be a 1st rd draft pick. Ramsey does not have near the skill Dre did coming out of HS. No matter your opinion Saban continues to take DBs and put them in the NFL. Ramsey and other kids that look at Saban see that. Saban works with the DBs and every year since Saban has been at UA I believe a DB has been drafted and will continue to do so.

If I am recruit and here stories where a player does not make it out of college but yet had all sorts of potential lets say like J Jackson that would worry me. But if the only thing I hear is they need to work on part of their game after they are drafted 1st rd I doubt they are concerned. See these kids want to get drafted and UA's DBs do. Big difference. Because no matter how you spin it Saban continues to prove every draft he can develop DBs.

Now BB argue, reply, or whatever you want. I said my peace on it and will not again reply in this thread. I understand you are a die hard UT fan and really want players like Ramsey to be a part of your program and he may be. I know UA likes him but he may decide UA is not an option. But you make me laugh with all your p---- envy for Saban. Enjoy the rest of your day.:)

Unfortunately, Bama corners don't have to backpedal much because their front 7 is in the QB's face before the receivers get into their routes.

Loyalties are a tough thing sometimes.
Would love for him to be an all pro, but, if he is just another in the line of 1st rounds misses for the Bengals, I won't be too upset. (other than we should have taken someone else)

TW I'm not sure where you're getting this opinion about Kirpatrick being more skilled than Ramsey coming out of High School. Dre may have been a little bigger, but Ramsey is a FREAK athlete. Plus, Jalen has a whole senior year left to play.

All it shows is tht Saban can cover a 5*'s a$$ when they do dumb stuff off the field.. Dre did plenty to get him and the university in trouble but ns found a way to keep him out of the news long enough for him to get drafted.. Obviously didn't prepare him very well for the nfl game though.. Barbara Dooley could coach kids with dre's natural skills to the league.

I'm pretty sure the point of this article is that Bama plays a diff style than the Bengals and that its taking DK a while to adjust. I know we all hate Bama but it does us no good to hope that Saban is a bad teacher. Two of our defensive coaches spent time under him. I hope he taught them lessons that are going to make our D as good as his. Just my:twocents:

Perhaps we should have Barbara as our HC then - it might be an upgrade.

Dre isn't a better athlete than Ramsey take off the Crimson shades. Another thing why should I like an opposing coach. I don't even bash Saban as much as you're saying but you don't care because he's the end all of college coaching right. A CB at a college program that doesn't know how to backpedal is f---ing terrible. Saban covered his ass his whole career and he'll be exposed. Don't come on a UT board and think we won't bash a rival team or player when we have a chance. You come over here with your "you must beat Alabama in every phase of the game speech" when LSU beat you with mostly STs in the first win. You come with all this "This is the best Bama Team yet BS". You have nothing special on offense outside of the O-line. Your QB and WRs are average and Rbs are unproven. But people should fear the Tide huh? Give me a damn break. If we're healthy in our matchup we're going to bust your ass when you come to Neyland. Wish Dre's sorry ass was playing so we could pick on his ass. Saban is suppose to prepare kids for the NFL but kid can't even function. GTFO He's going to be a bust like Kareem Jackson. All they did was learn how to run a good 40 and get hyped up.

Even though I really don't have a problem with Nick Saban outside of him coaching Bama, this is for you TW:

FUX SABAN :)

J Jackson was most likely the first safety taken in the draft like eb, all he had to do was stay clean.
