Saban takes a swipe at Kiffin and Fulmer

The bottom line is that we aren't at this level because of Dooley.

We are here as a cumulative result of the last two or three previous years of recruiting/coaching.

Has Dooley shown he can move us out of the cellar? IMHO, the jury is still out on that.

At the beginning of the year, it looked like we were a 4-8 team. Right now, I would predict we finish 4-8. Just about what we expected. If Dooley would have gone 6-6 or 7-5, I would have though he was a genius. On the other side, if we go 2-10 or 3-8, I am going to have bigger doubts about his ability to move us back to where we expect to be.

Personally, I think next year will be much more a "tale of the tape" than this year will ever be.

are you serious Saban, really said, "are they putting them in the right place"

more like putting 10 or 13, in the place where 11 should be

First of all, he said "they are."

Secondly, will all of you quit with this dumbass statement? None of you have ever played football if you think that each play a coach can take the time and hold the hand of a player and escort him out on the field. If he did, then there would be a delay of game penalty ever single play. The team practices sets each week, and it is the responsibility of the player to know which set he is in. There is barely enough time to huddle up, get personnel on the field, and get set in 40 seconds much less having to do all this while seeking a player on each formation and finding him and telling him to be here.

Alabama has had the same freaking problem, but I guess Saban is a moron, can't count, and doesn't have his team prepared, right?

If it was so clear for everyone, how did you miss it?

He was talking about Hambone and Kiffin. One person got it right.

Might want to change the OP title.....

I suppose we knew this given Saban took him everywhere he went, but it is reassuring to hear the greatest living college football coach speak highly of Dools.

What???? Sorry but that title belongs to Jimmy Johnson. 2 NCs and 2 Superbowls, don't think anyone else has them.

i think it has been said already but I dont think saban was swiping CPF, if i remember correctly he was pretty outspoken when they fired CPF.
Sure his aim was at CLK and Hammy, it does seem like years ago when CPF was coaching.

There's no way he can NOT mean Fulmer when he talks about several years of mismangagement.

I hate Kiffin but Saban was holding onto his dear life at the end when he played Kiffin coached UT team.

here is my opinion, so please dont bash me. i think the reason the florida and bama games were so close, is because kiffin talked smack and got in urban and nick's head. they knew the vols weren't coached by the lay down and die Fulmer anymore. that kiffin had something to prove, and this team under kiffin had what it took to beat them, if coached properly. but thats just my opinio.,

I thought it was pretty clear jmo.

Saban's right. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the problems that brought our program down. IMO we used AL's formula and ran with it. It worked for AL (eventually), surely it works for us?

So did he not get in Neuheisel, Nutt, and Beamer's head?

Quite simply, that is just HS.

Also, he got in Meyer's head so bad that Tebow did something uncharacteristic and fumbled it on the way to a blowout. We got dominated in that game, and Kiffin lauded his 10 pt beating.

It's no secret why we are in the situation we're in. I don't think Saban's said anything that's out of line here. We will just have to give this staff time to see if they can get things turned around.

You are delusional.

I asked pj to do it, actually.

Thinking the six coaches who beat Saban are better than Saban, well, says it all, I guess.

I didn't say they were better. They sure did beat him. Your friend got murdered by him.

I was at last years game. I can assure you we were out played in most aspects of the game. The play of Berry, their use of third string in the beginning of the fourth and some luck, contributed to our comeback. I know that it is easier to find fault in CDD, but those rose colored glasses regarding Kiffin are worthless.

How does you being at the game matter? It was pretty obvious that we held our own against the eventual NC. We got a few breaks but anyone that had a chance of beating Bama last year wouldve gotten some breaks. Kiffin and Monte did a heck of a job in that game.

Monte did a great job... Lane, not so much. Why the heck would you waste all that time trying to settle for a FG when you could've kept on moving the ball? He had an excuse that deflected the blame from himself like always when he said the refs would find a way to win it for Alabama.

The refs did blow it in that game. The penalties were like 4:1, and it wasn't bc Bama played a clean game. If crompton throws a pick there (which was incredibly likely), then he wouldve been crucified bc of it. Hindsight is 20/20.

Is that why we outgained them by over 100 yards?
