Kiffin denied the gas station comment, nothing else. If anything, just the Urban's a cheater comment was negative recruiting. They all do it and there is nothing wrong with it. They're all trying to draw favorable comparisons to other schools.

So you agree with the Cocks that when Reeves told Giles and his father that he went to TN to win champtionships and IMPLIED that won't happen at SC, that that is negative recruiting?

I am sure the line gets fuzzy at times, but again you have no proof, and Kiffin says that they don't do it as a staff.

I'm fine with touting your program and telling recruits that Ole Miss will never amount to a hill a beans. What bothers me is THREATENING an 18 year old kid. Saban is a jacka$$ who needs to clean up his own recruits before he threatens to turn others in to the NCAA.

Anyone thinking that there's not ANY negative recruiting going on is delusional. Coaches may tailor their style of recruiting by the recruit's personality and if they think it will turn them off they likely won't do it, but there are some young athletes that this type of persuasion is feasible.

Kiffin has said in multiple interviews he doesn't negative recruit and will not tolerate it on his staff.

What is said in public about recruiting is very different from what is said in private. All is fair in love and recruiting.

As have countless other coaches said, bottom line is all coaches throw out "suggestions" about other schools or flat out say negative things about other schools. They all do it, it happens all the time. The difference is there is a fine line that some coaches believe is off limits and others willfully cross, it's somewhat like splitting hairs but just about every program out there is guilty to some degree.
