esp when it comes to fundraising efforts, if you just walked by the university you're gonna get a letter asking for a donation.

Yeah, given our Ivy League quality degrees at UT, we should be ripping Alabama on this issue.

We dont brag about it either. Ive never heard someone say "yeah, well, I got a degree from UT so Im smart".

Though I have heard "so what department does UT specialize in...football"

seriously, the logistics and transportaion department is one of the leading schools in the nation. while i was there, it was no. 1, penn st. 2. whenever i go in for interviews, that's always a topic of discussion....

Honestly it's extremely difficult to gauge the overall strength of a school. UT has a top 25 endowment of any school in the country. Stats like that aren't mentioned in a lot of the magazines and whatnot. Anyways, whether some magazine says it or not, UT is a great place to get a degree. The number of CEO's, history professors from UT on the history channel, Oak Ridge national laboratory, and the number of companies that recruit UT grads should be clear indicators.
