Saban Is a Big Reason...

Then why in the hell isnt Saban President? America should draft him, make him serve for for 8 yrs and bring China, Russian, Iran etc to their knees.

Tennessee can only look at the stupid decisions hiring from President down to assistant coaches to see why they’re in the shithole. GA could well play for another NC with a very young team mind you this year. LSU could if they hired a top coach and could get a good QB Florida is probably coming back to contention soon.

Despite the Haslams & the Administration continuing to make questionable hires, there’s one obvious reason how it all started going downhill after Fulmer left...

Nick Saban started becoming successful as Bama’s HC.

Since then, it’s been pretty much a one man league whose dominance cannot be touched.

Sad but it’s the truth.

I don’t see any other team getting close to a National Championship as long as Nick Saban is still coaching.

Saban dominating CFB has little to do with what’s gone wrong at Tennessee post-Fulmer and UF post-Meyer. Saban has thrived on poor coaching hires elsewhere while building Bama into the giant it’s become.

LSU and UGA were garbage in the 90s...ditto for South Carolina after they joined the conference on 1992. That’s no longer the case.

Mark Richt started locking down recruits in Georgia in the 2000s, now Smart’s taking UGA’s recruiting to another level.

The conference is much deeper now, in addition to Saban dominating.

(1) Cutcliffe left. (2) Fulmer made bad OC hire (3) Kiffin ran off current players and incoming recruits. (4) Hamilton (5) Fulmer firing. (6) Matt Maul. (7) UGA made better hires. (8) More teams added to SEC. (9) Bad recruiting at UT. (10) Nick Saban
(11) Hiring 97 Strength & Conditioning coaches in a 9 year period. (12) No player on team to be a true team leader and hold others accountable. (13) Hrinig Dooley. (14) Paying buy outs to former coached

Regardless of what your program has going for it, it's not easy to find the right coach... LSU went through Jerry Stovall, Bill Arnsparger, Mike Archer, Curly Hallman and Gerry DiNardo before landing Saban. Alabama went through Mike DuBose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price and Mike Shula before hiring Saban. Georgia went through Ray Goff and Jim Donnan before hiring Richt. Florida has fired Muschamp and McElwain since 2014. It's too soon to give up on Pruitt but there is no indication at least so far, that he will be successful. Just have to wait and see...

Saban didn't win much his first 2 years at Bama. The fans wanted him fired. Good thing their AD didn't listen to the fans. Tennessee downfall started after Hamilton fired Fulmer. He hired Kiffin, then after Kiffin left, (which i didnt blame him for it) Hamilton hired Dooley. Then Hart hired Tyndall in basketball and Butch Jones in football. If you going to blame anyone look at the Tennessee higher ups. I do think now that Fulmer is the AD things will get alot better. Rick Barnes has the basketball team where he needs it. I think Pruitt will get our football team where it needs to be. He just has to get rid of these Butch Jones players who give up and don't want to play hard. There is some who Jones recruited who can play in the SEC. But for the most part lot of them need to be replaced. All you fans were blaming Hurd when he left. I think the kid knew what was going on so he left. For you fans who think Butch Jones was a good coach. How can you not have a guy like Alvin Kamara not touching the ball most of the time. Shawn Peyton knows how to use Kamara.

Saban also has 100% control over the football program. He can hire and fire who he wants.

If we were getting beat by them each year in the SEC title game I would agree. Saban isn't even remotely close to what our problems are.

He's reason a lot of coaches get fired. He recruits the best players money can buy. That and they have the best (roid) i mean strength and conditioning program around. Nick has the perfect situtation at Bama to succeed.

We play 7 other conference games against teams in the SEC as well. So Saban impacted us but not the other teams?

I added some other excuses as well. Might as well spend the off-season listing whose fault it is.

i have noticed a lot more games all around the country this year with near empty sections in the stands..... when you already have a pretty good idea of the out come of the season.. why bother.....i have watched fewer complete games in general this year than probably ever.

As long as he keeps recruiting number one classes and has the coaches to develop them will keep being dominant in the league. Georgia only one seems to be making any challenges to them now in recruiting so they could be a team that could be a factor for Bama going forward. Our goal is to get back to beating Missouri, Vandy, SC, and Florida every other season. That would be a major step for our program.
