Nick Saban, who moved from the college ranks to the NFL as the new coach of the Dolphins, is upgrading on the homefront, too.
Saban has agreed to buy a sweeping 11,600-square-foot, six-bedroom, 7 1/2-bathroom waterfront house in Fort Lauderdale. Saban, who signed a five-year $22.5 million contract with the Dolphins in December, is getting the house, listed at $7.9 million, for less than $7 million. Saban has been living in a hotel since joining the Dolphins in January. His wife and two children have not yet moved to South Florida.
Among the features of the house: limestone fireplace, Brazilian cherry wood flooring, mahogany millwork, a grand size Jacuzzi, two two-car garages and an outdoor living room with fireplace and kitchen.
