I mean. It’s like legit now. We are the worst team in the SEC. I never thought I’d live to see the day. Have always denied it, but it is pretty clear now. Will be hard to convince me otherwise.

Nowhere to go but up I guess.

Yeah it's really sad how far the program has fallen. I found the full rankings online and Charlotte is 1 spot ahead of us. Its terrible but I agree the only way to go is up!

When the 5h1tstorm started around here in early 2008, I posted more than once that "things COULD get much worse". Few agreed.

I myself hoped I was being unreasonable w unwarranted fear. We have now landed squarely in that crappy place. :-/

So shut down the athletic program and the school and turn the entire campus into a Giant Nursing Home.....Good Plan!!

Just further proof of what Pruitt has ahead of him. We are a team with very little talent and it shows. Right now, we are a MAC level talent team. Botch Jones did his best to torpedo this program. I have said it before and I will say it again. Botch left this program in worse shape than Dooley ever thought about. This is why this year and next will be very rough years for us Vol fans.

I understand it will take time. I will support them no matter what. I was shocked by some of the teams in front of us

Think Pruitt tells nothing but the truth to players, and then coaches/teaches from there. The ONLY way our team exceeds expectation this year is to embrace it and be the hardest working team on the field...a team that doesn't quit and makes the fewest mistakes. If they do that, we'll win a few games. I'd rather lose big like we did in week 1 to give coaches something to teach to than play cup cakes like others on Week 1 and get delusions of being better than we are.

Doesn't really matter what some hack writer or Vol fans think...they've got it in them...plenty of examples of under talented/over achieving teams every year...we just need to decide to be one of them.

I would love to see them over perform. Watching other teams it just looks like they don't have the energy about them. Maybe it will change but I would think it would be easy to get up for the first game against a team like WV

Pruitt is sort of like Saban in that you as a player or staff have to be able to set aside things over which you have little to no control. The heat or cold, the noise, how the person across from you performs, all those sorts of things have to be set aside. The only thing a player can control is his own preparation and performance, that's it. If THE player does that and all of his teammates do that, then the score and winning will take care of itself. I think that is the correct track as well. We have guys that have to buy into using the correct techniques and being where one should be on the field every time, not most of the time, without fail all the time. They should do that when they prepare at practice(s). Pruitt will win a lot of games at UT as he is driven, he knows what it takes, and he is willing to pay the price to win and setting the example of working hard and being consistent.

These are complete crap 1 game jn... we will climb 30 spots after.ETSU and 30 more after the next cupcake and be ranked about 40 when we face floriduh...which is probably about where we are honestly. They have mizzou ranked above SC, which i think will give the over ranked UGA dawgs all they want this week...and barely lose. They have MSU ranked above auburn...who just beat a top 10 senior laden washington team on a neutral site....this is a mickey mouse poll, and they are clowning us because we are the only SEC team that lost week 1...even though we played arguably the best passing offense in the country. This much is for sure, WVU has a 1st rd QB , and 3 receivers that will get drafted as well...that are 1000 yd receivers. We wont face that level of passing attack all year, though we will get it run down our throats in all likelihood by bama, Auburn, and UGA...

Go Vols...and yall quit crying. Its year 1, it takes a while to wash off all the suck.
