Yes, he is on the participation list for Kent State. Obviously, as a non-scholarship QB he had no expectations that went unfulfilled. Got to suit up for the Vols for a couple of years, and now can go find a smaller school to actually get playing time. Possibly help him get into coaching if he has that desire. I’ll probably get roasted for this…but IMO walk ons don’t need to announce they’re in the transfer portal and backups don’t need to announce they’re returning for their senior year…

More power to Ryan Damron; he is playing the hype game. He can find a team that can use his talents. I'm going to guess he has watched as much video on SEC QBs as anyone in the Conference. He has practiced base sets of the offenses of all our opponents. That has to have some appeal to coaches looking for motivated QBs.

I would think walk-on players are uniquely prepared to coach position groups given their assignments to play in various schemes from week to week.
