Ryan Childress shooting 3 pointers is terribly painful for me. It's like watching Tony Harris be an idiot back in the day.

He's been playing better though. I really hated him playing last year. What a great win today. :rock: :rock:

He had 6 rebounds and all were in key moments in the game. Pearl wants him to shoot, like he wants Bradshaw to shoot. He does what he is told.

i am fine with him shooting but let's face it him taking shots from behind the 3 point line is dumb.

Then tell that to Coach Pearl. That is one of the reasons he recruited Ryan. Because he liked his 3 point shooting(especially for his size). I don't like the 3 he shot today, but I don't mind him shooting if it is wide open.

i'm thrilled about the win. i just dont think a 6-9, 2 star forward shooting 22% from the 3 point line should be putting it up. there were 8000 people in nashville monday telling him not to shoot it.

Stars don't mean jack on the court. But come on. He is playing better than he did last year right? At least I think so.

I bet lots of people were saying "no" when Lofton shot that deep 3 and went Chism jacked up that 3 in OT but, you know what, it doesn't matter what they say.

if you guys want to see childress put up the shot then so be it. it's just not something i support or feel is a smart move. so what are you guys gonna support next? inbounding the ball to bradshaw in a close game to send him to the line?

If he is the only person open, yes.

That is part of Pearl's system. Get used to it. His big men shoot 3s. They always have in his system. He specifically recruits big men that can shoot from deep. Maybe not all of his big men can, but quite a few do.

I will support Pearl with whatever decisions he makeso on the court. If he tells Childress to shoot it, he has confidence he can make it. If he has Dane in that position, he has confidence that he can hit the FTs.

Pearl's done an amazing job reviving the program. I'd say he knows what his guys are capable of.

You know. I think I got the same feeling everytime Casey Clausen had the ball. My palms were soaking wet.

Can't explain it, but right now, noone makes me sweat that much right now.

Your statement sums it up well. We have a great coach. The vols are playing better than they have in years. If Pearl did not want Childress to shoot three point shots I am sure He would stop him.

I never said anything about doing what he says. I said I trust his on court decisions. There is a reason he makes the big bucks and I am a lowly fan.

I agree, Childress gets happy shooting 3's. Don't try to compare Lofton shooting one to Childress. I would think it's going in if Lofton shot from half court. Against OK St Childress jacked up 3 after 3 after 3, and miss after miss after miss. He's not a shooter like Lofton or Jajuan. You tell a shooter to keep shooting. Childress needs to be banging for rebounds and setting screens. However, if Pearl is telling him to keep jacking the 3's up, then who am I or anyone to question the man? Like the OP said, I cringe when Childress launches one.
