I'm not so sure that I could have continued my Vols fandom if the AD actually let him be HC.

While the Pruitt debacle was painful, I do believe that we had to truly bottom out to get better.

Nailed it - and why all of Volnation let it be heard too.

As @dduncan4163 said above, he's Butch 2.0 and he would have been just good enough to hang out here for 4 or 5 years, hell with the Administration at that time he may have even got 6 out of it if turned in one or two 8-4 seasons.

No way we would have ended up with Fulmer as AD, Pruitt as HC, hit rock bottom and cleaned house the way we did...we would still be playing mediocre ball.

Not only that, but unless my math is bad, ALL of those losses but 1 are by double digits!!

It takes great effort to have a worse attitude than Butch Jones. Butch has the worst kind of ego. He made the same mistakes game after game after game and always blamed the players, never his dreadful decision-making in crunch time.

Im seeing 2 that were 7 point losses...2015 against MSU and 2021 against michigan.

The other thing that caught my eye is 23 ( about two-thids) of those games against top 25 teams were against 3 school, OSU, Michigan*, and PSU. Further evidence the Big 10 is pretty much 3 good teams and a bunch of tomato cans.

If there was ever a game that illustrates how screwed up College Football re-alignment is it is this one. Rutgers playing at Washington on Friday nite in a BIG game. Sheesh!
