Rushing the field

I have honestly wondered about this very same question. I think Vandy would still have to pay, as it is a failing of their security.

Would be funny, but I’d never want to set the precedent of rushing the field because we beat Vanderbilt. Honestly, we’ve re-established ourselves and hopefully won’t feel the need to rush the field against anyone in the near future.

I mean we just did it a month ago. We don’t appear to believe we are above it.

I agree we shouldn’t do it, but if we did, at least beating Vandy and doing it would have the novelty of making the playoff and doing it at an opponent’s stadium.

Oh he11 no. We don't rush the field for beating Vandy or getting to the first round of playoffs. That's embarrassing as it gets.

Kind of sad to think that we would rush the field after beating Vandy.
That's one perspective.

Another perspective is, a party's a party. You don't JUST party when you're seeing your friends for the first time in decades. You can party every Friday night. And Satrudays too.

If Vols fans love getting together to party together after games, and it ahppens to be on the field, *shrug*

In the darkest days of our Era from hell (Kiffin - Gump) I would've buried myself in a tar pit if we rushed the field from defeating Vanderbilt. That would be the pinnacle of embarrassment. Let's not worry about who settles the bill. The act of celebration over Vandy should be settled with a clap, a cheer, and a head nod.

If UT wins in Vanderbilt and fans rush the field, do they send a check to Knoxville? I'm just thinking there will be more UT fans there than Vandy? Wouldn't that be hilarious.

It’s always the students who lead the charge. Tennessee won’t have a student section there, so I highly doubt anyone rushes the field.

In 1985 when we beat Vanderbilt and won the conference, the field was absolutely attacked.

It happened in 1985.
