The last time each SEC team rushed the field according to SDS:

Looking at the last time fans from every SEC team rushed the field

I can't wait until the day again where Tennessee is so good that opposing fans would rush the field after a victory over the Vols.

If you would like to cough the $100,00, go ahead. Just make sure it is a certified check.

I'll pay the $100 bucks, or is that supposed to be $100,000? If the latter, then I don't see where the $100,000 is coming for the first offense. Maybe check your stats.

From the link:
The policy imposes financial penalties for violations in all sports sponsored by the SEC at the discretion of the Commissioner. Institutional penalties range from $5,000 for a first offense to fines of up to $25,000 for a second offense and up to $50,000 for a third and subsequent offenses. If an institution is penalized and subsequently does not have a violation for a period of three years from the date of the last violation, that subsequent violation shall be considered a second offense.

BTW, thanks for the link 508:hi:

So, one of only 10 teams that has ever won 800 games, the second winningest team in the best conference in America should not expect championships? Really?

first, fyp
second, when was the last year that you looked at our roster and thought that it should compete for a national championship?

2001 was the last time I thought we could compete for a championship, but in my lifetime I would say that roughly 1/3 of the teams I have seen had the talent to compete for a title. How is this for a list: 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, the 90's, and 2001.

Wow! Do some of you believe that we won't compete for titles again just because you haven't seen it yourself? Where do you think Bama was in the 90's? They were exactly where we have been this last decade! Name a traditional power that hasn't gone through a slump! They All have been through slumps! We are rising up through the ashes right now folks!

Personally, I am not a big fan of rushing the field. We are TENNESSEE! We should EXPECT championships!

Whatever helps you sleep at night. We've milked our ONE championship in the last 50 years long enough. We haven't won 8 games since 2007 and haven't won more than 10 in 15 years.

With this reality parade on rainbow land, I still don't like storming the court or the field. It's now cliche after herd mentality overused it to feel apart of something like everyone else.

2004 was mayhem, but no one rushed the field. Although probably would have been a good thing as since everyone stayed in the stand the cougar next to me gave the 20 year old version of me a big kiss that started an arguement between them, her and her 6' 4" husband, and led to my immediate exit from my seats.. I would think 1998 Florida "No Sir-ree" game was the last time..

10 years is a long time and probably worth rushing the field though I think it depends on whether it's a blowout or a last minute win, that'll be the determining factor.

I was at school during the 1998 UF game and was on the field after the game. I know from my dad that UT rushed the field after beating Bama to break a long streak back in 1982. Is there any other times anyone knows of when the fans have rushed the field? Perhaps 1985 over No 1. Auburn? I can't think of any others?

1982 vs. Alabama
1984 vs. Alabama
1985 vs. Auburn
1989 vs. Auburn
1998 vs. Florida

Possibly another game in the early 1990s, but I can't remember which one.

I agree. I remember in 2000 when we lost back to back road games against UGA and LSU, both rushed the field and tore down the goal posts. That's how dominant we were in the 90s.

That's extremely low on the list of things I'm looking forward to should we ever return to relevance.

NEVER rush the field. It makes the fan base look like a bunch of desperate children. In addition, it makes the other team's loss look more significant than your team's win.

How about rushing the field in anger after bad losses, shouting obscenities about the poor play??

I could see Tennessee fans rushing the field when the Vols beat UGAG in Neyland this season.

When was the last time we rushed the field at Neyland?

My Freshman year, 1975. Jumped the fence and rushed to the UT at the 50 yard line with girlfriend Linda from Oak Ridge. The stars were all aligned that evening.
