Rush Probst

All these negative comments about Probst is all the more reasons I want him. Last decade we have fielded a bunch of sissys most the time because the coaches were sissys. We need ass reamers of the highest order if we wanna play at a high level.

Have family in Hoover area. Other than W-L never heard a good word about Propst while he was there. Full disclosure: Family is in Vestavia so there is a tiny bit of bias expected ( think Maryville discussing Alcoa).

This is not what Tennessee Football needs- No Shady controversial coaches that will get more bad PR & Controversy. There are tons of great coaches that can recruit & win with class. We can do better than this guy, I can name 10 former player at Tennessee that deserve a chance before this shady character.

I may get flamed for this but here it goes. Bring the man in,he will bring a level of toughness we have not had in a while. I know all about the 2 family thing thing and so did his wife. The seemed to have no problem from what I can gather so how is that on us. That is something between them. The guy can coach but I do believe he would have to be monitored to be in compliance with the NCAA. If he screws up you report it and fire his azz on the spot. This is one of those occasions where CPF would be a great asset to mentor the man. Who knows he may become a great coach here

So you think it's a good situation for Pruitt to have to keep a close eye on and be responsible for someone who used to be HIS BOSS? Not sure that sounds like a good idea at all.

Didn't say it had to be Pruitt but someone could. Don't see any difference when everyone wanted Kiffy back it would be the same thing. Heck how many have been hollering for Kippy to come back and that would be worse

Listened to a S Ga radio show last night that had him on. Said he had talked to Phil and JP on numerous occasions and would see Pruitt next week after Championship game this weekend in Ga. He would be an amazing addition to this staff. Hope he finds a way to make it to Knoxville.

Cant say I would be to excited for him to be on staff.

I saw the E60 program on him. It was very detailed with his past and many of the things seen in this thread. What I alos see negative is everything about his Hoover days. He went thru all the personal life stuff that he brought on himself. He's been thru throat cancer or something of that nature. He resurfaced in GA sometime after that. What I am not seeing is confirmation of his ongoings to current since he has been at Colquitt. Is he the same. Has he changed. He seemed to have no problem owning up in teh E60 segment, but has he stuck to it. I'd be more curious of how he is now verses how he was at Hoover. When he went thru his life change and evolvement so to speak, has he stuck to it, or just a smokescreen.

I don't know what you guys want. Jones was mean to the players cause he called them names. The players frankly quit (if they didn't quit, they suck as SEC players then cause that's all you can call 0-8) cause he was mean but now we're all dancing in the street cause he got a "tough" coach who's gonna work their ass off and hire a Jimmy High School coach to be his bad guy? Sounds like more drama to me.....

Propst would be a huge get specifically for recruiting. Questionable history yes, but as a QC coach or staff assistant you can't get any better. Would probably even make a fine ST coach.

Maybe look at someone you haven't worked with / for? I would hard pass on this guy and wouldn't want my son playing for him.

I live one County over from Colquit where he is now. He is no doubt a changed man as far as his past. The throat cancer thing was a huge scare and a second chance for him. He is the most honest dude you could ever listen to in an interview. He has coached and been very successful for 37 years. He could bring something to this staff. The man runs Colquit like a college program. They are opening a 6 million dollar indoor facility for a HS program next month. He rules Ga HS football just like he used to rule Al HS football. He doesn't give you coach speak or Champions of Life BS like we have heard for the last few years.

Being him in as a behind the scenes guy, then promote up through the ranks as warranted. He is the sabin of hs coaches. Get him on board before the competition does.

That's the kind of info I would be interested in. I'm OK if a person says they have changed, and you can see they did. It's not for me to hold a grudge or judge someone I personally do not know. If I was an employer looking at him, I'd want to know the past is truly the past.

Being a Griffin native, I knew of Colquit growing up. Never remember them being patsy's before he showed up though. May have played third gun to Valdosta and Lowndes, but they were definitely upper crust of South GA football. But, then again, that was back in my day. Like Griffin, they probably went through a long dry spell.

As someone from Birmingham who watched what happened at hoover up close and personal I would be very disappointed in this.

Are you a Valdosta native, or a translant. One of my best HS football memories was Willie Gault's senior year. We were loaded. He was just the golden child. We had multiple gold and silver plated players. Heavy roster. We came into Valdosta in '79 and tied them 7-7 for the state championship. That was as good as beating them in their book. Valdosta fans were pissed. Our buses got vandalized. We were getting harassed. Had to load up and get out. Players and fans. I was still 8th grade and our season was over, so had to watch from the stands. Guess if we'd had home field we could have pulled it off. That was back when Valdosta was the absolute king of GA HS. Titles almost every year. LaGrange used to turn sprinklers on the field to slow us down. Played in a mud pit, but the sidelines would be dry. Our coach would dress us out (JV) for the varsity home games. 80+ on the varsity plus another 60 or so of us JV on the sidelines. didn't get to play obviously, but the look that gave the opponent when seeing 150 plus across the field.

What proven facts? And do any of those facts include sexual assault of a minor?

The fact that he openly admits having two families. Wife and kids. Girlfriend and kids that he lived about 50% of time with. Incognito for a long time until it came out. Never ended either one. Wife eventually did IIRC. Lot of moral/character issues at the time. Might still be with girlfriend as his wife now. Can't remember how that went. Got throat cancer. Saw the angel I guess. Cleaned his act up, and supposedly living well now.

As far as all the other stuff pointed out, his personality at the time lends alot of credibility to there being a fair amount of truth to it. Likely not all, but a good bit. From a couple posts above of people that live in the area in GA, he seems to have left all that behind. I don't live in GA now, so I can just accept what seems to be his rep now. If he has actually left the past behind, good testament for someone that a person can change if they wish.

I'm sure he would be a support staff guy.... Good for recruiting purposes and can learn the college ranks from doing intern GA type stuff... The best system in NFL history (NE patriots) so the exact same thing.... Just be willing to drop the hammer if need be....
