VN please assist, who is Rush Probst?

High school coach.... very successful to the point of domination.

MTV did a reality show on his teams at Hoover AL
Canceled show after it came out he has two families. Was common knowledge and wife knew and just the way they choose to live.

Jeremy Pruitt studied under Rush at Hoover....

Rush is possibly the best coach in the country at the HS level....

Seen him at coaching clinics and have watched practices..... it's crazy how he runs practices and how he develops talent. Very impressive setup for HS

Don't see how he would fit in the actual staff?
And don't see why he would give up coaching for a supporting role?

My guess is players on his team Tennessee wants to recruit. Possibly a year or two out.

According to the video...some high school/frustrated, never was much of anything as an athlete guy with "short-mans syndrome" who likes to bully high school kids...

Think that about covers it....

That's not even close to the real story. Probst is one of the most crooked and Shady coach's and men you will ever come across. Many men and women lost their jobs back in the day for trying to cross him and get him out of Hoover. He didn't leave quietly and took an act of Congress to get him out of Hoover. Now he's one of the best HS Coach's in the country. Top 3-5 in the US. But having him at your school comes with a huge price and he's a control freak to the 2nd power. Whatever he wants he gets no matter what it takes. Doubt that's changed at his job in GA.

Rush is one of the most sad/intriguing coaching stories I've ever seen. I worked with his first wife (Tammy) when they were dating and engaged back in the early 80's. As I recall 30+ years later, she left her job in Chattanooga to go back home and marry Rush. But I also don't know him like some of you do.

I didn't know anything about what happened at Hoover until I saw the ESPN "Friday Night Lies" documentary. The guy interviewed with Saban and could have had the job had it not been for his double life with the other woman. To Rush's credit, he acknowledged what happened and did not get the offer because of that. With his coaching ability he possibly could have been a big-time head coach by now had he not stepped in a big pile with that other woman.

I had heard that he and CJP are in constant contact and I wondered if Rush coming to Knoxville was a possibility. Does he deserve a second chance? I guess we all have needed one at times.

Everyone deserves a second chance in these circumstances. I’ll trust Pruitt to make that decision. I’ve met Rush one time and he was very nice. He gets a lot out of his football players so whatever his formula is, it works.

Yea I've heard stories, however my interaction with him he loves football and is extremely helpful and will talk football and strategy with you as long as you have questions.

I would be shocked if he ended up on Tennessee's staff.

However his football IQ is off the chart. Guy is football coach and he lives for it. If he did end up on staff very good mind to have.

Seems as if Pruitt goes after folks with strong Recruiting abilities that are in states that are fertile recruiting grounds...I like it, hire the best person possible from each state with tons of talent...That being said, who is he bringing from Florida?

Correct if I'm wrong, but thanks to a new NCAA rule, you can't hire a high school coach two years before or after signing an athlete from that same school.

We've signed Shamburger within the last two years, so doesn't that preclude us from hiring Propst?

I hope we don't, either way. Guy is a grade-A scumbag with an ego to match.

I mean our guys do need some toughness, we've been getting our asses whipped by empty helmets under the past coaching regime.

The impressive thing is that he headbutted a player wearing a helmet with his bare head. I’m sure it didn’t hurt the player at all but it did open up a gash on Probst’s head.

This times 1000%. I live in Hoover and spent/spend a lot of time around the Bucs program doing various volunteer work. Propst is a despicable person. He had grade changes going on to keep his players eligible including those at the middle schools! Recruiting from other area schools...Chad Jackson wasnt the only one. MANY more he scooped up and magically became Hoover residents. Got teachers fired, etc. Complete mayhem surrounds this bull in a china shop.

One of the reasons Pruitt got the job at Hoover was he camped out at Propst house and kept harassing him for the DB coaching job that was open. After one year the DC got a HC job in South Alabama and Pruitt was bumped to DC. Thats about the time Satan arrived at Alabama and Hoover was loaded with prospects. Shula had failed miserably recruiting Hoover and Satan realized they needed an "in" at Hoover with so many prospects. its essentially how Pruitt got hired at Alabama, to deliver some of these Hoover players and he did. He was hired as an off the filed coach, like player personnel or something like that. Everyone around Hoover knew what was going on with the Alabama hire of Pruitt. Propst wanted the job but his slimy past prevented it hence Pruitt was the next best choice.

Pruitt was a great coach in the short time he spent at Hoover but he's 100% bammer gump all the way. He absolutely walked into the perfect situation at Fla St as they were LOADED on D with talent.

Not sure how Pruitt is going to work our for you guys (Washington Fan here but have lived in Hoover for work the last 20 years) but I have a mutual disdain for Bammer arrogance. Im surrounded by these gumpers on a daily basis. Makes my head explode.

Pruitt is raw, green and everywhere he's coached has been loaded with talent. Just think about this, when Satan was holding up the Crystal football for LSU, Jeremy Pruitt was a non position high school coach in Fort Payne, Alabama.

Best of luck, beat Bammer gumps please.

I live in GA. Probst is a great HS coach but his offense isn't for college. I'm not sure what we want him for here. He is also a jack ass! He head butted a player a few years ago and the obvious issues with his family. Let him stay where he is.
