For anyone who has issues with “running-up” the score: I loved Fulmer - And he won A LOT of games. But, He always seemed to get content with a 10-17 point lead, and then just run the clock for the rest of the game.

WAY too many games - I ended up sitting on the edge of my seat, as other teams made it extremely close at the end…….

Of course, with a couple of our other coaches - We weren’t even capable of running-up the score…….

However the polls don't like that type of mindset. They begin to think there is something wrong...jmo

What I do mind in college football:

"Shoe string tackles" where the defender literally wrenches the ballcarriers foot/leg in such a way as to cause an injury. Akron was doing this against us.

Unnecessarily low tackles and chop-blocks.

Florida being good because #()&*@! them.

What I don't mind in college football:

LSU Golden Girls

Running up the score with your 2nd and 3rd Stringers. They go in and run the offense. That includes passes because that's the point.

I have no problem with it if it's the backups running it up. They bust it in practice and deserve to make some plays. If the 1st team is still in late in the 3rd up 40 that's different.

I remember back in the '90's, coaches and fan bases accused Spurrier of running up the score on some teams. His response was simple and to the point. It's the responsibility of the defense to stop them.

Besides, Akron's QB purposely came to the UT sidelines on multiple occasions, talking smack to Heupel during the Akron drives.
