Basically, the whole basically ordeal needs to be disregarded from future threads and posts. After reading yestersay's string of lunacy, I feel that it serves no benefit to anyone when you retort to sardonic remarks that could possibly provoke future situations.

that is basically gay.

Man, I hate to do it based upon my being a better VN citizen, but here goes........if you're going to use words outside the range of your daily vocab, look them up prior to trying to use them in a sentence.

What words were used incorrectly, Papa? And none of those words are "outside the range" of my daily vocabulary. When you start popping off backhanded comments, it might make sense to provide some evidence to your claim.

If those are the words you use in your daily vocab. you are a douche.

exactly what i predicted it to be........go look it up....i hit it dead on last year.:)
From May of last year.......figured i'd save you the time Rex.....:

"yes, lots of optimism indeed...

Cal...W 24-20
AF...W 31-13
UF...L 27-20
Mar...W 34-13
Mem...W 38-10
UGA...W 20-10
Bama...w 24-21
USC...w 30--14
LSU...L 24-13
ARK..L 17-10
Vandy...W 28-7
UK..W 34-10

9-3, probably playing in the Outback, Peach or cotton bowl.

Of course, we could win the ARK game, and lose to Cal, UGA or Bama as well....but i still don't see us losing more than 3 games...."

Stunna,

Here is the post in question and it has some serious issues. The redundant 'basically' pulling the train from the front is a problem. How does one disregard from future posts? Additionally, you either retort WITH sardonic remarks or RESORT to sardonic remarks. Finally, future situations are going to happen with or without provocation. One could provoke arguments, disagreements, or UGLY situations.

I tried to leave the specifics out, but you asked. There's my redline of the abortion you tried to turn into thought.

this year is admittadly tougher than last...so many teams with questions...

but here's my inital thought on the schedule:
Cal W?
USM W
FL L
Ark St W
GA W
MSU W
Bama L
SC W?
ULL W
ARK W
Vandy W
KY W

this year is a lot harder than last imo...honestly when you look at the schedule it's hard to find 3 losses, which i think we'll have. I'm pretty sure one will be @ FL. the bama game sticks out because it's there, they should be better than last year and they will be going bananas down there for that game....but i still wouldn't be shocked if we won either.

but the third one could come from Cal, UGA or SC, though i do feel good about GA right now. SC's defense will be good, real good. and Cal being first game for our D against that offense...you never know.

so my swing games are Cal and SC this season, i think we'll lose one of the two but not both, finish 9-3 and headed to Atl or Tampa for the holidays, once again.........10-2 at best and maybe headed to Dallas or Orlando.

but like i said, this schedule is much harder to pick than last year's........imo.

jake,

I agree with you regarding the difficulty of calling the games this year. When you look at the schedule though do you get the sense that this should be the Vol's year? I look at that schedule and see no LSU or Aubie, toughest OOC game is Cal, and UGA is at home. Couple the schedule with Ainge being a Sr. and it just seems like this ought to be the year. I do not expect it to happen, frankly I'd be more shocked than lawgator if UTK wins the SEC, or even the East. I just don't see it getting any easier in 2008 or 2009.

yeah, and i'll be the first to admit, i've changed my thinking in this regard. right after this past season i immediately pegged 08 or 09 as the next best chance for us....but in reality, when you look at this schedule, this year, with as many teams that do have questions and changes in personnel, coaching etc.....this actually is shaping up to be a pretty legit shot for us.

SR qb
3 deep at RB
experienced, albeit not overly talented O line
what should be a very good LB corp
Big time potential at D LINE and WR
maybe best TE's in the Conf?

what could hold us back? Defensive back feild and none of the WR's panning out early enough to make a difference.

combine that with the schedule, with the toughest two games literally being @ Cal and @ FL and @ bama. but in reality, the only game on the schedule that i truly think we will in fact lose is the FL game. Cal, Bama, USC, GA, ARK...are toss ups in my mind.
that's why i can't "find" 3 losses on the schedule, cause i honestly do think that we can win each of those games. that does not mean i think we will go undefeated..........it means that i think TN, GA, FL, BAma and USC are all in about the same place right now, and on a given Saturday, anyone one of those teams could lose to the other, and likely will. ANd since we don't have LSU or Aub on the schedule......who knows?

this year literally will likely come down to getting a couple of breaks, and us "out developing" our questions faster than the other guys.

i still think 9-3 is where we wind up, maybe 10-2. but no worse than 9-3.

The coaching staff is not saying too much about Coker. I don't know what he did off the field, but this is stupid with the silence. They need to let us know where he stands. I would like for him to start, but I also like Foster's pep in his step lately. By the way, is there any chance our best Safety (D-Mo) can be reinstated or is he gone for good?

why, who the heck are you?

and i doubt very seriously that the staff cares if you think he should start.

believe me, there's a lot of stuff that you don't or won't ever know about......so get over that.

I think your concern about Bama is dead on. I really don't think UF solves their defensive issues by the third game... especially after playing light weights the first two.

Their offense could be good and their line has some good players returning but they're thin. UF is fairly thin everywhere... which should help UT early on.

I'm more worried about USC though than you might be.

Yeah very funny, but I don't think it's fair to keep things on the hush when we all know Coker's in the doghouse for something. And so what if I make a statement that he should be the starter. That's what everyone else is doing in this thread :realmad:
