.It is still too early to tell how everything will shake out; the only certainty is that we need Georgia to look amazing the rest of the season. SOS is an official factor in CFP selection this year, so we need the Pups to look good.
Oklahoma might end up being a critical deciding game for our CFP hopes.
Just win baby, and it will take care of itself.
Oklahoma is probably going to be highly ranked. If we beat them it will really help. Arkansas and Mississippi State would be considered solid wins. Too early to say where we would be ranked with 2 loses, it’s still early in the season and teams will get better and some will fall off. Maybe we win them all. There will likely be upsets to teams along the way. We just got to play one game at a time. In the SEC there are virtually no gimmies for any team. GBOI know this is super early… but Alabama is the only team we play that could boost our shot in making playoffs. We lose to Bama but still win out , we are probably 4th best in the SEC
Yes and they are definitely on the downside of the Stoops era, if not the end. No excuse to lose there. I am not worried about that one, but I know that someone is going to sneak up and bite us on the àss, it’s a given.Losing to UK in football is a fireable offense. The 3 prior coaches to JH all had 2 things in common. They all lost to UK. And they all got fired.
So Ms State D may be prepared for our offense. Plus it is Joey’s first game in a hostile environment, and it will be loud.Yeah I’d agree except miss state head coach runs heups scheme and we practice against it and know it well… also Joey Ag is seasoned and I feel a lot more confident about his ability to go on the road and play well due his calm cool demeanor… but there are some games on the schedule that will be tougher then we thought during the preseason… we absolutely can win out but we have to bring it every game and I think this team will still play with that chip every game..
Miss state is not scary from an ath stand point and we have completely retooled our offense… they won’t be able to stop us much at all but I’m confident we get it done in that one… I wasn’t overly impressed with them vs asu but they are definitely a formidable opponent… I think this team is built to be able to run the table.. but one week at a time I’ll enjoy this season because I believe it we’ll be a special one for us..So Ms State D may be prepared for our offense. Plus it is Joey’s first game in a hostile environment, and it will be loud.
Our best bet is to score early and often and get stops - keep the lead like LSU in 2022. I don’t like our chances if it is a one score game late in the game.
Imo any team regardless of who it is in the sec with only two sec losses should be in the playoffsA lot more on the schedule than Alabama. A win against Oklahoma may end up being worth a lot more if they continue to perform. A win against Vanderbilt (yes, Vanderbilt) may also end up being worth a lot more if they continue to perform. Maybe more if other teams also continue to play well.
That said, if Tennessee wants to be in the playoffs, then they have to win every game from here on out. 10-2 guarantees nothing. Just puts you in the mix to be picked.
It starts with Mississippi State in two weeks, who'll almost certainly be 4-0, undefeated, playing at home, and looking to make a statement against the Vols in Starkville. Heupel's strugglebus games have always come on the road. I wouldn't for one second be looking past that game in Starkville. Not for one second.
We hung 38 on Kirby in regulation; it would have been more if CJH kept his foot on the gas. I'm not worriedWould love to see it. Just have little confidence it happens. We are not good on defense at all and at least a couple of teams are going to figure out a way to slow us down on offense enough to beat us.
