Running MLB playoff thread.

@XFINITYSports: Gio Gonalez has only given up more than 4+ runs twice all season, at home. The #Cards are looking at an uphill battle

I'd rather see the Nats advance

Not me. I'd rather not see the team whose management chose not to put forth full effort in the final month + playoffs win. I get it that they are trying to save Strasburg for the future, but they owe it to their fans to give it a 100% shot when they are in a position to win now. You never know if you'll get this kind of shot again, and to shut down one of your aces in order to save him for some hypothetical situation, which may or may not ever come to fruition, is a joke IMO.

I think it shows balls. That you value the health of a player more than wins. If I was a player I wouldn't be happy about it but I would appreciate it.. Especially in this day and age

Probably so, but at the end of the day, it's not the players they are trying to make happy. It's the fans who pay the bills. Like I've said before, can you imagine the outcry if it had been the Cubs, in the midst of a 100+ year WS drought, who found themselves in the Nats situation and management just decided to give up on the season, all in hopes of winning some other year(s)? The Nats have no way of knowing when or if they will ever find themselves this close again, and to not give it a full go when they've come this far, is weak IMO.
