We need to call more running plays for one lol. We pass pass pass. Id like to see one of our rb do more. Don’t know if small or wright is the choice but they are what we have. So hopefully we will adapt.

Pitt defensive line one of the best in the country. But yes, we need to get better

Pitt DL is indeed very good. But they were missing their best lineman. And it isn't like DLs are getting much easier with UGA, Bama, UF, LSU, and UK on the schedule.

Definitely need to get better in the running game and quick.

The TN running backs had a hard go of it today for sure . WV ran all over Pitt
I mentioned this in another thread. Hooker doesn't need to be carrying the ball as much as he did today. Our OL isn't anything special so protection and the running game will be iffy at times. Maybe Sampson will prove to be a more talented/explosive option? I'd sure love to see him get a bigger role vs Akron next week. Haven't seen that much of him, but he did show some burst/vision that I haven't seen from either Small or Wright.

Pitt’s strength is stopping the run. Their secondary couldn’t handle our WRs and that is what we exploited during the game. It ultimately paid off. Pitt’s d line was legit.
And Man, Just like last year, we had some very unfortunate overthrows that could have broken the game wide open. Don’t know what happens to Hooker against Pitt but gosh

I think we would've put this away sooner had Hooker used his legs more.
Several opportunities where the lanes opened up and he could have burned it up the field.
I get that the coaches wanna see him throw more this year, but honestly (and ughh) we just dont have that bruiser of a back to help out this pass game.

If anything, i think Hooker needs to Dobbs it and run. He is our identity.

We should have won by two TDS but didn’t. I am just happy we won a game during prime time. It has been forever.

We hit some of those deep balls early and you may have seen a different outcome. Plays were there to be made but the drops and overthrows hurt as they continued to play man to man.

For some reason, he stayed in the pocket a lot. Didn’t move the pocket much. I wonder if that was by design

Hard to see how we're going to be very effective running against any solid SEC opponents, unless it's Hooker. Our passing game will make or break
us this year, it would appear.

Wr played to our strengths and their weakness. If you can't understand that, get lost. Their DBs were a weakness and DL a strength. We exposed them.

Last year against Pitt, Milton broke a long run (55 yards) but other than that we had something like 82 yards in 32 carries. Numbers from today are probably similar. Pitt is built to stop the run and we are NOT a power running team. Of course, we could have hung 50 on them if Hooker had been a little more accurate on some throws and if receivers had hauled in some catchable balls. But in addition to be a good run D Pitt also pute pretty good pressure on the QB so that's probably why some throws were off.
