Anyone know who Dooley might be looking into to coach the Running Backs?

I haven't heard any rumors yet for this specific position.

Veto on Jay Graham...enough of Jay Graham...there are so many better qualified coaches, why the fascination with JG besides the fact he was a VOL?? Anyone?? I thought so

i haven't really seen any names pop up for rbs besides Trooper but he wants an OC job..I don't think Dooley would take him because he is looking for coaches that want to be here and not use this as a stepping stone with one foot out the door.

I think we could do much better than Graham with all of the connections our current coaches have..since no names have been bounced around I can see this position coming from the NFL

I'd take EG back in a heart beat now that the A@@holes are gone, that caused his departure in the first place.

Let's give Rathman another try. Maybe the talks broke down last time after he realized what a slimeball staff we had.

I agree with the fact that we can do better than Graham, and I also think Gran left cause of the shaddy dealings of some of the last staff.

Gran has the job he wants...I really think this will come from NFL just like the WR coach...he came out of nowhere and it is usually easier to track down names in the college ranks because so many people know each other but NFL is much more professional and people do not throw their names around as much until the move actually happens

It's a shame because his ethics seem to fit so much better with this one, but can't come back now. He's a great coach and a great fit with the Vols.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the thought of bringing in Slyvester Croom. He's an SEC man ,and he did at least elevate Miss State's program to a higher level after what Jackie Sherrill did in Starkville.

Just a thought--

Who were the running back coaches at LSU from 2001-2004 and for the Dolphins from 2005-2006?

Dooley may go after someone he has already worked with.

The Phins had Bobby Williams who works for Saban now in the same position at Bama.

The thought about Sly Croom was an interesting one. He worked last year with our new WR coach. Maybe he's ready to come back to the SEC. I don't know.

Unless he thinks that the Rams staff is about to undergo a huge turnover, I would be surprised that he would come to college to coach the same position. But who knows, considering how shaky things are there, and if Tennessee can match his salary there, maybe he would... I think it would be great.

I think one of the biggest reasons EG left was because of the Pahokee comment. He probably knew it wouldn't be long before !@#$%^&* made another bridge-burning comment. He whas worked his *ss off building relationships in South Florida and !@#$%
just about killed them with one stupid remark. We probably should have read a little further into that remark. As far as the original question, it is indeed a good one. I have no idea who he may be considering, but hopefully it is someone with the recruiting prowess of EG.
