Beattie Feathers. First 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL. Did it before the NFL hash marks were moved and before The schedule was expanded to an infinite number of games.
I'm a bona fide Stanley fan, but he should have never been used as a running back. That one year as a tailback probably cost him 2-3 more years in the NFL.
Many of the guys spoken of in the above posts were "pure runners". If, as the thread implies, it is asking for a back to make this offense really work, you need to think of the guy who could pass block really well as run really well. I have a hard time remembering who that guy would be.
I would like to see Kamara reach his full potential instead of being a sideshow to Hurd. He could've broken records here if he had a coach worth a crud.

According to the title of the post I'll take Eric Gray - he still has eligibility left. Henry, Webb, Kamara, etc, etc, were great but they have no eligibility left.
Curt Watson and Haskell Stanback get old school votes. Johnnie Jones gets extra credit for being the first 1,000 yard rusher and more for the sweet black F-100.
