Because our coordinators don't coach a position, therefor we don't have room.

Examples:

McElwain is Alabama's QB coach
Chavis is LSU's LB coach
Malzahn is Auburn's QB coach
Lorenzo Ward is SC's DB coach
Mike Bobo is Georgia's QB coach
Charlie Weiss is Florida's QB coach

IIRC, Dooley will be forced to make a change after this season. His current RB coach is Graduate Assistant Gino Fontenette. I think there is a two-year maximum term for graduate assistants and if that's correct Dooley will be forced to either dismiss a current coach in order to promote Fontenette or find someone to fill Fontenette's role after this season because this is Fontenette's 2nd year as GA.

Is this correct?

Have any journalists asked about the running backs coaching situation? I was just wondering if he'd addressed it at any point.

Edit: By "he", I mean Dooley.

GA's get two years then must be promoted or move on.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some shuffling of responsibilities, but I doubt it would be anything more than one coach leaving.

Ellis Johnson is USC's DC not Ward.

I said it in another post. Throw all we have at Eddie Gran and get him back here! That guy is a recruiting monster and a good RB coach. I want him so bad here!

Chaney needs to take QBs. Hinshaw to RB or hire an RB coach that is a solid recruiter.

I had more of a problem with Chief than I did Randy.

I was joking, but it's hard to argue with Randy's success as a position coach . . . Garner, Stewart, Hayden, Graham, Lewis, Henry. Just make sure he doesn't get a headset on gameday.
